"You're here." Marcus' voice was slightly hoarse.I gave a soft hum and stepped inside, groceries in hand. "You don't look too good.""It's not as bad as it seems. I just feel a little dizzy," he said, closing the door behind him.I set the fruit and medicine down on the coffee table. "Have you taken your medicine yet?""Yeah.""What about food? Have you eaten?" I asked. He shook his head.A frown crossed my face. "How can you skip meals when you're sick?""I don't have much of an appetite," he admitted."Still, you need to eat something," I said. Then, I stood up and continued, "Where's the kitchen? I'll make you some oatmeal.""You don't have to—""Don't argue with me," I cut him off. "Just tell me where the kitchen is."He looked a little taken aback by my words. Moments later, he pointed to the right.I rolled up my sleeves and headed straight for the kitchen. Thankfully, there were still some oats left in the fridge, so I grabbed a pot and started cooking.By the tim

Asher broke into a sudden fit of coughing the moment my words fell. "W-What kind of nonsense are you blabbing about?" he stammered.I blinked at him innocently. "I was just asking, but that was quite a reaction. Don't tell me I'm actually right?" He looked away and replied, "That's not it. Don't jump to conclusions."I stared at the faint blush creeping up his ear before letting out a chuckle. "Alright, I get it."Once I'd returned to the dorm, I lay on the bed and scrolled through my phone. Just then, a message from Marcus popped up."Thanks for coming to see me today. The oatmeal was delicious," he texted."You're welcome. Are you feeling any better?""Yeah, much better.""That's good. Remember to take your medicine on time," I urged."I will. By the way, did Caleb come to look for you?" he asked."Yeah, he came to apologize," I said."Did the two of you make up?""No. I turned him down."There was a long silence on the other end before Marcus finally sent another mes

Before I could finish my sentence, I caught sight of Caleb walking toward us.He came to a stop by our table before asking, "Can I sit here?"The three of us froze at his words. In the end, Marcus spoke first. "Sure."Caleb sat across from me. After a brief silence, he said, "There's something I want to tell you, Sabrina."I set my fork down. "Go ahead.""I'd like to speak to you alone," he insisted.I glanced at Marcus and Asher. "You can just say it here. They're not outsiders."A frown crossed his face, but in the end, he still nodded. "I've thought it through," he said. "We really weren't meant for each other."I raised an eyebrow at his words. "And?""So, I want to apologize to you properly. What happened before was my fault. I shouldn't have treated you that way," he said, meeting my eyes."I've already received your apology," I replied."I know," he said quietly. "But I wanted to say it again. I'm sorry, Sabrina."I studied him for a few seconds. "You've changed, Cal

On the way back to campus, I found myself walking between Marcus and Asher. The night breeze carried the scent of early summer. All of a sudden, it struck me how nice this kind of life was. Without the need to date and the constant fear of losing someone that came with it, I was content as long as I had sincere friends."Sabrina," Asher suddenly said.I gave a soft hum in response."Will we always be like this?" he asked. His question caught me off guard. "I think so," I replied after a moment. "As long as we all want it to stay that way.""That's good to hear."Marcus spoke up as well. "No matter what happens in the future, we'll always be friends.""That's right. We're friends for life," I said with a smile. After that, we fell into a comfortable silence as we walked on. Still, I knew we were all thinking the same thing.…Finals arrived right on schedule.I was certain that I did pretty well. At the very least, I wasn't in danger of failing any of the subjects. All th
