Third Person's POV Nica watched the exchange, a polite but tight smile playing on her lips. "You two look good together," she remarked, smoothing down her clothes as she rose to her feet. "I shall take my leave then.""You can stay here," Reina offered, standing up as well. "You're Damon's old friend, and after you traveled all this way with so much luggage, it wouldn't feel right to just send you away.""But it seems Damon doesn't quite agree," Nica noted, casting a pointed glance toward him.Reina glanced down at her husband, noticing his tense posture. She wondered what was causing his hesitation, but she chose not to push the matter. While she wanted to be a welcoming hostess, she knew the final decision of who stayed within the walls ultimately belonged to him. "Nica, as long as you behave," Damon warned, his voice low and unyielding."What do you mean by behave?" Nica chuckled, though the sound was slightly forced. "Gosh. We worked together for so long, Damon, yet you act lik

Reina's POV "Yes, but I will tell you only if you appeal to Damon to free all of us," Fredrick said, a bargaining glint entering his eyes. "If not, then this truth will get buried with me," he added with a sinister smile. As expected, he refused to give me any answers unless I offered him a promise. This man had lied to me too many times before. This time, I wouldn't fall into his trap."How am I supposed to believe you? Who knows if I even have any relatives out there? Besides, my mother worked as a servant in your house, didn't she?" I questioned, crossing my arms defensively. "I don't wish to know anything from you anymore. It's better to just let you rot in this prison."If he actually cared to tell me the truth, he would have done so without trying to exploit my past or being so cruel. I turned my back on him for the final time. "Reina, don't be foolish," Fredrick called out, his voice turning desperate as he realized he was losing his leverage. "You want answers, and this is y

Third Person's POV The next morning, Damon headed to the dungeons to deal with Fredrick. As he stepped down the dim stone passage, he found Fredrick washing his face over a simple water vessel in the corner of his cell. Drying his skin with a small, coarse towel, Fredrick paused at the sound of heavy footsteps. He turned around, a smirk playing on his features. "I knew you would come to me," Fredrick said, his tone dripping with unearned confidence. "Reina must have told you what I want, and what she expects to learn from me." "Yes, she told me that you expect a full return to your former life," Damon replied, a cold chuckle escaping him. "But you seem to have forgotten who you're attempting to negotiate with." Before Fredrick could react, Damon closed the distance, his hand clamping around the older wolf's throat. He slammed Fredrick's head back against the damp stone wall with enough force to rattle the cell. "You've forced my hand," Damon growled, leaning in close as the temp

Third Person's POV "Alpha Zayne got drunk in a bar, so I brought him home," Penny told the guards at the gate as they took Zayne's weight off her shoulders."Thank you, Miss Sylvester," the guards said, helping the unconscious Alpha through the gates and toward the mansion.Penny climbed back into the taxi, settled against the seat, and gave the driver directions to her apartment building.'Should I talk to Reina once?' Penny thought, pulling her phone from her purse. She pulled up Reina's social media account, which she followed closely. 'No... it's their personal matter.' She shook her head, deciding it was best to stay out of it.Upon reaching her apartment, she freshened up before retiring to her bedroom. Yet the moment she closed her eyes, Zayne's broken face flashed in her mind again. Standing on the balcony of her apartment, Penny stared at her phone screen before finally typing a message to Reina:[Hey Reina, it's Penny Sylvester, the gynecologist from the pack hospital. I n

Third Person's POV "Come with us to Velinov," Damon told Nica. "We may need an experienced healer if things go wrong." Nica turned around to look at him, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "You should ask nicely," she replied with a smirk. Damon rubbed the bridge of his nose, exhaling sharply. "You haven't changed a bit. Fine. Nica, will you please join us in Velinov?" he asked, shifting his tone to sound slightly more polite. "Sure, I'll accompany you," Nica replied. "Thank you. Go and pack your bags. We're leaving this afternoon," Damon said. "Is Reina coming with us?" Nica asked. "Yes," he answered. "I couldn't leave her behind. Besides, what you told her raised questions about her identity and whether she is truly a healer. I've noticed her healing abilities before, but I want to hear your perspective." "The pendant glowed in her presence," Nica replied, pulling out the chain around her neck to reveal the crystal attached to it. Damon stared at the pendant, genuine
