ROXETTE I woke up tangled in the sheets with Chandler’s arm draped heavily across my waist, his warm breath tickling the back of my neck. The Paris morning light filtered softly through the curtains, casting a golden glow over the luxurious hotel suite.  My body still ached deliciously from the intense morning sex we had just shared — the way he had taken me from behind, then flipped me over and made love to me slowly and deeply until we both came undone together. Even now, just thinking about it sent a fresh wave of heat through me. But we couldn’t stay in bed forever. With great reluctance, we eventually dragged ourselves into the shower. The hot water cascaded over us as Chandler’s ha

DIANAThe bathroom door slammed shut behind Chandler as he carried Roxette out, and the sudden silence was deafening. I stood there frozen, my hands still half-raised in the air like I didn’t know what to do with them. My chest was heaving, and my heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was trying to escape my ribcage.I was still quite shocked.I stared at the spot on the floor where Roxette had been curled up just moments ago— the wet tiles, the faint smear of blood near the edge of the sink. My stomach twisted violently. I hadn’t meant for it to happen like this. I had been angry—no, furious—but I never intended to shove her that hard. The distress had just exploded out of me all at once. Everything I had been holding in for weeks, maybe even months, came pouring out in that one violent push. The image of her falling kept replaying in my mind on a loop. The way her body twisted. The way her stomach hit the sink. The way she immediately curled up and clutched at it like she was p

ROXETTEThe hospital discharge process felt like it took forever, even though the doctor had assured us multiple times that I was going to be okay. The head injury was nothing more than a superficial cut that had been cleaned and stitched. No concussion. No brain damage. Just a mild headache and some bruising that would heal in time. The baby was fine too—the ultrasound had shown a strong little heartbeat, and the doctor had smiled warmly as he explained that the fall hadn’t caused any harm. I had cried again when he said that, relief washing over me like a wave. The tiny life inside me was still safe. Our baby was okay.Chandler hadn’t left my side the entire time. He had held my hand through every test, every question, every quiet moment of waiting. His face had been dark and protective the whole time, but whenever he looked at me, his eyes softened in a way that made my heart ache with love. He knew about the pregnancy now. He had heard me say the words in my panic, and he had sta

ROXETTEWe stayed curled up together in the big hotel bed, the soft glow of a bedside lamp casting gentle shadows across the room. Outside, Paris continued its quiet nighttime rhythm, but inside our suite, time felt slower, warmer, and safer than it had in days. Chandler’s arms were wrapped around me like a shield, one hand resting protectively over my stomach even though there was still no visible sign of the tiny life growing there. I shifted slightly so I could look up at him, my head still resting on his chest. His fingers traced slow, lazy circles on my back, and I could feel the steady rise and fall of his breathing. For a moment, I just listened to his heartbeat, letting the sound ground me. Then the words started to spill out—soft at first, almost shy, but growing more animated as the fantasy took hold.“I keep thinking about what it will be like,” I began quietly, my voice soft in the quiet room. “When the baby is here. I imagine us back at the estate… not the big, formal on

ROXETTEI woke before Chandler did. The soft morning light slipped through the curtains, and for a few minutes I just lay there listening to his steady breathing. His arm was still loosely around me, heavy and warm. Last night’s talk about the baby and our future had left me feeling lighter than I had in days, but my mind wouldn’t stay quiet. I needed air. I needed to walk and think without anyone watching me.Carefully, I slipped out from under his arm and got dressed in a simple coat over my dress. I left a quick note on the nightstand: [Went to get coffee and walk a bit. Back soon. Love you.] Then I headed downstairs. The hotel lobby was quiet. I stepped outside and started walking, letting the cool Paris air wake me up. My steps were slow at first. I thought about the baby, how small it still was, how the doctor had said everything looked okay after the fall. I thought about Chandler’s face when he’d held me last night, how gentle he’d been. How he’d said he wanted this life with
