Adrian POV The boardroom is quieter than usual. Not calm. Just tense in a way that makes every movement feel louder than it should. Seven people sit around the long glass table that has decided the fate of companies larger than most governments. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the skyline stretches across the afternoon like nothing in the world could be unstable. Inside this room, stability is the only thing anyone is questioning. I sit at the head of the table. Damien sits to my right, reviewing numbers on a tablet. Across from him, three directors whisper among themselves while the two undecided members flip through briefing folders they’ve already read twice. At the far end of the table sits Leonard Vance.
