Hansel’s POVThe room smelled like herbs and drugs, I didn’t like it.It had been four weeks already, four long weeks of sitting beside Caleb’s bed.Four weeks of wondering if he would ever wake up.Mila had done her best to knit his flesh back and u had cast spells to stop the bleeding, but he didn’t wake up till now.“He should have woken up by now.” One of the doctors whispered “The damage was severe.”“We don’t know if he’ll recover.”Every single word had haunted me, I dipped the cloth into cool water then gently pressed it against Caleb’s forehead.Around us, the healer’s room remained quiet.Sunlight streamed through the windows, outside life continued.Inside, time had stopped for me, I squeezed the cloth“You’re an idiot.” I whispered I looked at his sleeping face.“You know that?”I smiled sadly and cleaned his face, “You scared everyone, especially Caleb.”My throat tightened. “You scared me.”The confession came out quietly.
