Knox's pov…..The palace halls were quiet when I returned.I didn't like arguing with Mila.My boots echoed softly against the polished stone floor as I walked toward my room. Servants stepped aside respectfully when they saw me, lowering their gazes the way they always did now.Alpha King. The title still felt strange on my shoulders. But that wasn't what was occupying my mind, all I could think about is Mila. The way she had looked at me when I pinned her against the wall. The way her breath had hitched and the way my wolf had surged forward like it wanted to tear through my ribs.I clenched my jaw as I pushed open the door to my room. The large room was dim, lit only by the faint glow of moonlight spilling through the tall windows.I shut the door behind me and ran a hand through my hair.“Get a grip,” I muttered to myself. But my wolf wasn’t listening. The moment I sat down on the edge of the bed, the restless energy inside me surged forward again.A low growl vibrated in my chest

Mila's pov…Shit Mila you always do things like this. The growl rolled through the darkness like thunder. It was low and deep.Like an animal For a moment I couldn’t breathe. Those red eyes stared at me from the shadows, glowing like two burning embers in the pitch-black room. My heart slammed violently against my ribs as my instinct screamed at me to run.My throat tightened. And then i screamed. The sound ripped out of me before I could stop it.I scrambled to my feet, my palms slipping slightly against the cold stone floor as panic rushed through my veins.“What—what is that?!”The creature in the darkness moved violently, it's chains clanked violently.Metal scraped against metal as something massive lunged forward. The sound made my stomach drop.Rina stirred inside me instantly.Danger.Danger.Danger.I stumbled backward, my hands flying along the wall as I desperately searched for the light switch. The darkness felt suffocating, thick enough to swallow the entire hallway.B

Knox's POV….The taste of blood was the first thing I noticed. It was sweet and electrifying but it felt wrong. My jaw ached as if I had clenched it for too long, my teeth throbbing with a strange pressure that made my head feel heavy. My breathing came in ragged bursts, chest rising and falling like I had just fought a dozen rogues. For a moment, everything around me felt blurred..Like my mind had been wrapped in fog. Then the smell hit me.Blood, fresh blood. But it wasn't my blood, it was something sweeter.Something painfully familiar. My wolf stirred inside me with a low rumble.Mate.The word echoed through my skull.Mate.My heart skipped violently.Mate? My gaze slowly lowered. And the world shattered.Mila lay on the stone floor in front of me.Her body was completely still. Her blonde hair spread across the cold ground like spilled sunlight, but her face_Her face was pale.Too pale. And there was blood.God.So much blood. It stained the side of her neck, trailing down h

Mila's POV…. When I woke up, the first thing I felt was the heat. Not the gentle warmth of morning sunlight or the comfort of blankets. This was different. It burned under my skin and was scorching me from inside out. I groaned softly and rolled onto my side, pressing my face deeper into the pillow. My entire body felt sore and heavy, like I had been beaten the night before. Well technically I was. Then the pain in my neck throbbed in pain. My eyes snapped open. The bite. My hand moved instinctively my fingers brushing the tender skin just below my ear. The moment I touched it, pain shot through me and I sucked in a sharp breath. “Ah…” The healer hadn’t been exaggerating. The incomplete mate bond felt like something alive under my skin. Rina stirred weakly inside my mind. Painful…. She choked out. Even her voice sounded exhausted, as if she had cried all night. “I know,” I murmured quietly. My throat felt dry. My eyes drifted toward the window. P

Mila's pov…..The sun dipped low over the lake, casting a golden shimmer across the water that danced like fireflies on the surface. The air was thick with the scent of pine and wildflowers, but all I could smell was my own heat as I whimpered in pain. "Please, Knox. Make it stop." I begged He searched my eyes, his own darkening with desire. "I'll take care of you, Mila lay back."I obeyed, my limbs heavy with need as I reclined on the soft grass, the cool earth a stark contrast to the fever burning inside me. The lake lapped gently at the shore nearby, a soothing sound to the storm raging in my body. Knox positioned himself between my legs, his hands sliding up my thighs, pushing my sundress higher. The fabric bunched at my waist, exposing my lace panties, already damp."You're soaked," he murmured, his breath hot against my skin as he leaned in. His fingers hooked into the waistband of my panties, tugging them down slowly and deliberately. I lifted my hips to help, gasping a
