Chapter 101.Loving is hard part -1.Kristine Pov.“Baby I'm leaving”. My husband yelled from the living room, I pulled a cover over my body, blowing a kiss from the step, he caught it in the air and ran off with a wide smile across his face.“Be careful”. I yelled, and my voice echoed down the hallway.“Love you, Kris “. He shut the door.“Some fresh air”. I hissed.Loving Marcus really feels different, he used to be my man, the man I couldn't wait to leave the office to jump into his arms while he does painful lustful things to me. I would jump on our private yacht with wiggling my buttocks all around while he thrusts in, spanking my buttocks at intervals.I pulled the glass open, there were more than a hundred Zara wears I had yet to wear, I pulled out a blazer too, one to pair with the black trousers.“Perfect”.I headed into the shower to shower and leave for the office, there was a fresh bouquet of roses close to the dressing mirror and a letter.“Alex”. I smiled.“You're my be

Chapter 102.Loving is hard part -2.Kristine Pov.I blinked hard, forcing myself to control my emotions.Damn, this was becoming more frustrating by the day.“Kriss”. I cursed under my breath. The strange handsome man standing on the other end of the elevator stood, his suit unbuttoned, the inner white well ironed, his legs huge.Ridiculously tall and handsome, God was definitely playing with genes when he mixed him.His eyes were striking and seductive, he dressed simply, yet I loved his style and elegance and on his wrist he wore a Rolex wristwatch, the same one I got for Alex on our anniversary.“After you Miss”. He allowed me in, his voice calm and his reaction bold. This stranger was in my company yet I felt small and naive in my own space lost in the realm of his personality.“Huh”.I answered with a nod standing at a corner. He pressed the button and the door closed.“Thank you”. I responded by trying not to focus my gaze on him for so long.He nodded, giving enough distance aw

Chapter 103.Loving is hard part -3.Kristine Pov.“Why did you barge into my office like that?”. I went loose with him.He smiled.“I'm sorry I thought I heard you say I could come in”. He smiled. His level of boldness was beginning to get him drunk cause what the hell was he walking into my office unannounced?“I didn't ask you to come in”. I corrected it.“Then I'm sorry for getting you pissed by my presence please temper justice with mercy my lord”. He bowed.I chuckled slightly.Fine, I was mad he jumped in here from nowhere but then what in heaven's name is the calmness in his voice, and what the hell does it do to me?“It's okay, if there is anything that brings you back then sit”. I pointed towards the empty chair in front of me, leaning slowly into mine, he moved closer but he didn't sit; instead, he stood at attention.“I would like to take you to lunch to apologize for bumping into you at the elevator earlier and for coming in unannounced “. He pointed towards the door, his

Chapter 104.Loving is hard part -4.Kristine Pov.“Hi, my love”. Alex's voice echoed from the other end, I rolled my eyes.“Baby”.“It took you so long to call your husband “. His voice was low like he was upset.I pulled the tablet closer, less interested in his silliness.“I was in a meeting with the Tysons”. I responded lately.“Hum Tysons?”.“Yeah”.“I didn't expect anything less”. He praised me.I faked a laugh.“Baby so I was thinking about changing your ring”. My brows furrowed Ed, my gaze shifting to my ring. The diamond is still as shiny as ever.“I saw the banquet of roses on the jacuzzi”. I disregarded the renewal of the ring without a second thought. I had dozens of them. What is the use of wearing a wedding band for a man I no longer find sexually appealing?.“You like them, I got you your favorite “.“Yeah, I love it”. I zoomed into a lipstick with a black cylinder checking its properties, less interested in the conversation.“Baby i’d send you some samples later, My PA

Chapter 105.Loving is hard part -5.Kristine Pov.Ever since that night Alex changed. He stopped touching his food, he started acting distant, Alex would intentionally stay out for late hours keeping me up, and just saying “Hi baby”. And he'd go to bed making sure our skin doesn't touch all through the night. At first, I thought it was just his silliness. I thought he was trying to fight his hidden trauma, that part of him he was hiding from me and the world. I thought he'd come around knowing he can't stay mad at me for so long. The last time we went for a general checkup, the doctors had warned us that he could skip meals and his meds most times, he would lose appetite, and should take more fruits on days like that. And on some other days, his body would reject food and he'd be unnecessarily harsh knowing what fate holds. But then, Alex was nothing like that before the whole call, my husband would jump around the house, planting kisses on my face at any chance he got.Alex would go

Chapter 106.Loving is hard part -6.Kristine Pov.A week later Alex's attitude grew worse, I saw more of his showdown than I actually saw him.It was on a Thursday, I had rushed down to the office to sign some document since I didn't want my PA to send it home, I left Alex in bed, he worked late hours, so I thought that he would be going to work today so I rushed to the office, and on my way, I grabbed some fries from our favorite restaurant.“Alex”. I called out, dropping my bag on the couch, the room smelled of fresh rose and the whole place rearranged, he was nowhere in sight but his car was still parked downstairs.I frowned.“Where is he?”. I walked to the corner of his bed, his spot still a bit warm.I walked over to the toilet.“Alex?”. I yelled. No answer, I was beginning to panic but still I held my breath.“He would never go out without his car, he would never, the car saved

Chapter 107.Loving is hard part -7.Kristine Pov.“Answer me this minute and stop your silly pretence”. Alex said with no form of affection in his eyes.He just stood there staring at me while I knelt there fighting for my life, proving my innocence.“Alex..”. I called out amid tears. He was u a bake ti stand my tears, he moved closer covering the distance between us kneeling in front of me.“Please hurt me with the truth Kristine “. He cleaned the tears that lured, my breathing becoming stable gradually. I held onto his pale hand that felt like iron” Don’t comfort me with a lie”. His eyes swollen and lips pale, I could see black patches all over his chest. My stomach twisted in disgust.Cancer is a damn bastard.Alex, the rich billionaire, hangs on to being nothing and helpless because of some damn disease that has no damn cure.I swallowed hard not letting go of his hand.“

Chapter 108.Loving is hard part -8.Kristine Pov.“No you shut the hell up, Kristine”. He blew out.I stood there confused as to the figure standing before me, there's no damn way this is my husband but he wasn’t done, as a matter of fact he was just getting started.“Alexander..”. I panicked seeing veins popping out all over his head but he didn't stop yelling.“Do you know what it feels like for your wife to turn her back on you when you desire her the most?”. He shunned his eyes at me.“Baby I never abandoned you”. “I crave for your warmth, I'm dying by every minute as the one person who I'm supposed to see when the rise gets rough slowly loses interest in me”.My chest burned. His words are like fuel to a dying furnace. The more I looked at him saying those words, the more broken I felt. The weight rested heavily on my shoulders, my knees suddenly weak, unable to carry m

Chapter 109.Loving is hard part -9.Kristine Pov.The silence grew, hours turned into days and days turned into weeks.Alex changed completely, becoming a shadow of himself. He skipped meals continuously. He would pick the act keys and leave the house late at night and my husband would be less bothered about where I'd be going. For some reason our doctor insisted on coming home to treat him, he would yell at me in front of strangers to leave his sight. If I try to touch him in bed, he grabs his pillow, stands up, and heads straight to the guest room.He changed from the sweet husband I married to a complete beast. And now the feelings changed, when he looked at me, it was no longer love…it was resentment and rage.He looked thin and pale, like he had made up his mind; there was no need to fight, begging for death to take him already. Aside from his head, which still had a little

Chapter 110.Loving is hard part -10.Kristine Pov.Austin stared at me, his eyes filled with shock. He had sent so many gifts since the last time at the office, I asked my PA to trash them knowing I couldn't take any of it home, it would raise suspicion from what is already on the ground and the last thing I wanna get in right now is explaining why I'm coming home with a huge wrap of red banquet.“I didn't expect to see you like this. What happened?”. He asked, his eyes filled with warmth, I stared at him for a minute then back at the floor. This was wrong.I left my husband at home and now I'm in the bar with another man running from the man I once called my safe place.“The weight..”. I started not looking at him.My eye on the bruise I had sustained earlier when I tripped from the stairs lost in thought, I chased the maids off and the one person who would have given me a proper massage wasn't the man I used to know, it felt like my husband was becoming a shadow of himself slowly.
