Cadmus’s POVI watched her sprawled on the bed, and got aroused again. Chuckled. We enjoyed each other until she went limp. We can finally do things we couldn’t before. My dark side was my beast. I touched her bumps, and the redness was gone. She screamed and moaned, and I was afraid she wouldn’t like it. Victoria never ceases to surprise me. I walked to the large window and stared at the city about to awake. The fear I live with every day is for her safety. I will not let her get hurt. I love her with all my being. I love her because I have never loved anyone ever. She completes me, feels me, and is attuned to my everything, just like we're supposed to be.I feel her hands on my back, then her chest, and I close my eyes. Her hand touched me on the chest, then slid down to my cock. She massages it and is already erect as she places kisses on my scarred back.Comes to the front, and she goes on her knees, licks her lips, and I grab her hair. This was unexpected, and I like how she is n

Cadmus’s POVMy hand groped blindly across the cool nightstand, searching for the vibrating phone as its buzz rattled the lamp. The persistent hum pierced the darkness, my fingers fumbling for the device, the plastic slick and cold beneath my palm. My eyes refused to open, heavy and unwilling. What?"Cadmus," Abrax whispered over the phone. I need your help. What do you need? I moved to the bathroom, careful not to wake Victoria.I know where Raya is. Get her, Cadmus. Save her. He told me the location, then hung up.I cursed. Too many threads tangled together, and I knew Raya was his fated mate—perhaps more. They shared a bond. As I muttered to myself, the bathroom door creaked open, and Victoria stood there, hair tousled, beautiful and regal as ever.Cadmus, she sang my name, melting me.My love, please go back to bed.Who messes you up this early? she chuckled.Abrax, I said. Her smile vanished. What happened? He found Raya's location and begged me, Victoria. How do I explain I can’

Victoria’s POVThe car pulled in front of the pack house, and memories started flooding in. Cadmus sighed."I’m here, Victoria, take a deep breath," Cadmus said as the door opened, and I saw Thane. He took me in a long hug. His lips touched my temple. "I missed you," he whispered.I pulled away and saw Cadmus smile. He’s handling this better than I thought, or maybe he’ll kill Thane soon."How is your mate, Thane?" I asked politely, changing the subject."Pregnant, adorable, and I’m happy," Thane said. "Come, Drystan is inside, let’s get this hunting party going, need some excitement."So much testosterone in the room—and I was the only female. Cadmus grabbed my waist and pulled me close. The tension was high. This was Thane’s idea, and it was perfect; we all played our parts—otherwise, the spies would report to Slava. His territory was the closest to Makarius’s. To keep up appearances, we used the hunting party as a pretense, allowing us to advance closer before launching an attack.

Victoria’s POVBeing back in the kingdom was perfect; I felt at home, and everyone’s life was back to normal. Not me, I worried about everything. The stone streets glistened with morning dew, and the air carried the sweet scent of jasmine drifting from gardens behind high walls. Laughter and chatter echoed through the market square, but under the familiar red and gold banners, my chest felt tight. Even the warmth of sunlight on my skin couldn’t melt the cold stone of worry in my stomach.Abrax asked about Makarius every day. Six months, not a sign of him. Then there was my mother, who was deep in hiding since her best friend, Slava, died. I was hurting thinking my own mother wants me dead. Their plan didn’t work, and I knew that was her next move.Cadmus and my father talked, and they think I don’t know. Abrax and Thalia burst through the door as my thoughts scattered.Mama, Thalia is following me everywhere. I need time alone. I laughed. They missed each other, but when they were to

Victoria’s POVGoing back to the Tatra pack was like stepping into another era—memories swept over me, equal parts beautiful and painful. My steps slowed at the outskirts, heart racing, but then I breathed in the familiar air and pushed forward. It also felt like home.Joe welcomed us, and the kids loved the place. Abrax kept his feelings to himself, and I knew he felt some guilt. He had never forgiven himself for the way things ended last time we were here, and I could sense the weight he carried coming back. While they settled in, I walked to the clearing, where it all began and ended. Alone in the center, I closed my eyes and replayed everything. There was nothing I would change, not really. Well, maybe I wanted to know if Makarius ever actually loved me. Was it all magic? Did it matter now? I remembered the nights we spent sneaking out past curfew, the way he would trace old talisman marks into my palm and swear every secret was just between us.I could see the flicker of a grin o
