Chapter 1: Taken in the Night Elena’s phone buzzed on the nightstand. She ignored it at first, half asleep, legs tangled in silk sheets. The villa was quiet except for the distant hum of the pool filter outside her window. Daddy always said the house was safe. Guards everywhere. No one could touch her. Then the door crashed open. She sat up fast, heart slamming. Two big shadows filled the doorway. Black masks. Gloves. One held a gun pointed right at her chest. “Don’t scream, princess,” the taller one said. His voice was deep, calm, like he did this every night. “We’re here for you.” Elena opened her mouth anyway. A hand clamped over it before any sound came out. Rough palm. Smell of leather and smoke. The other guy moved quick, zip ties snapping around her wrists behind her back. She kicked. Hard. Her bare foot connected with someone’s knee. He grunted but didn’t let go. “Feisty,” the first one laughed low. “Your old man raised you right. Too bad it won’t save you tonight.” T
