His presence was overwhelming. He suddenly felt bigger, his aura filling the whole room like clouds of smoke. It was suffocating and powerful. “Do you understand me?”I could only nod weakly and when Landon released me from his hold, I didn’t waste an extra second and directly ran out of the room.Monster! I should’ve just left him to die yesterday. If I did, he wouldn’t have had the ability to over power me, to threaten me like this.I cursed under my breath, raging, shaking. I was a mess when I got to my room and sat, trying to calm down and trying to forget the feel of his lips so very close to mine. I was insane to have liked it. To have parted my lips slightly when he kissed me. To have wanted nothing but to throw myself into his arms and devour those perfect lips of his to show just how much I hated him. How angry I was at this whole situation. I tried my best to be calm and focused as I rushed through freshening up and rummaging through my closet for something to wear. I c

“True.” Surprisingly, Landon agreed with a nod of his head. “I agree it’s more… exciting with you here.”The way he looked at me, I knew he was talking about how he’d had his fingers underneath my skirt the other day. My eyes moved and caught Emily’s who has been staring at me. She quickly looked away, balling her fists then she whispered something to Leo who then threw me an apologetic look. I really wished I could hear what they were saying. If I had heightened hearing…Perhaps he thought I heard them. That was why he gave me that look. If only he knew…Kain took my hand in his own naturally, smiling in his natural playboy style. He kissed my knuckles tenderly and I noticed Landon glaring at us. “I’m sorry my little treat for you disappeared.” He said apologetically, referring to the human girl and I quickly waved it off.“It’s okay. I’m sure we can find other ways to enjoy ourselves.”Landon’s gaze was burning a hole into me by now. “Do you still want to go on that speed boat d

“Don’t be ridiculous, Kain. How can she be his mate? She comes from nothing. I’ve never even heard of her.” Emily threw me a condescending look and I rolled my eyes, fighting back a retort. “Let Landon answer the question.” Kain said sternly and I also moved my gaze towards Landon. He was calm and composed as usual, his lips curled into a smirk like he was having fun.Landon leaned back into his chair, tilting his head so he could look at Kain at the other side, “What if she is?” He said and my heart dropped down into my stomach, my heart raced. “And what if she’s not?”God, was he playing with everyone right now?Kain returned his smirk and the tension in the air dissipated like smoke, “She’s not.”I took a deep breath. I knew I couldn’t be Landon’s mate. I wasn’t even a werewolf but only Landon knew that. And I’m not even sure how those kinds of things worked for them.I stood abruptly, all eyes on me as I announced, “I’ll eat in my room.”They all watched me with hawk-like eyes as

Panic overwhelmed me, and I almost turned back in the hope to save myself when I noticed a shadow. I decided to go look and saw her. The human girl in the red dress. She stretched and yawned, looking bored and hungry. But this sight only stroked my already sparking rage.“I told you to stay up there, didn’t I?”She turned around, lookin so startled then an apologetic look crossed her eyes. “I wanted some fresh air badly.”“Okay. So what if it was a guard walking through this place right now? You went out didn’t you?” I said, glancing at the opened door, “Where did you go?”“I just… I-i needed a view of the outside world. You can’t blame me for that.”“The outside world? Do you realize you are supposed to be dead today? I put myself at risk to save and you wanted to see the outside world? It’s only been one night!”She dropped her head, “I’m sorry.” She said then looked up with a bright smile like she’d been faking her sad apologetic face just now. “I still haven’t properly thanked y

“Look, Melody, I don’t care what you had planned before. You owe me your life now and if you get me in trouble, I’ll kill you.” I wasn’t sure what it was she saw in my expression but her face paled, “You… you regret saving me?” “I would’ve saved you again regardless. There’s no way I’m going to watch another death happen.” She held my hand, stepping closer, “G, I won’t get you in trouble I promise. You’re a good person and I’m going to repay your kindness someday.” “Good.” I said, ready to leave. “I’ll try to bring you food everyday but I can only bring it once or it will be suspicious.” She gave a nod and just when I was about to leave, she called me back. “G, it will be really nice to have someone like you with us you know. Don’t you want to go home safely? Join us then. Join us and let’s destroy these monsters before they destroy us.” She stepped closer, “That powder you used on the guard. Where did you get it from? Can you get more?” My eyes narrowed and my expression twist

His eyes lit up with a glint, “Okay, what?” “Okay, fuck you, Landon!” I pulled away from him, trying to grab on to whatever wits of mine was still lingering close and tried to ignore the loss of warmth I suddenly felt. I couldn’t believe I almost made a deal with him. That’d be a very silly mistake. The worst thing I could ever do. The man was playing with me. And he was enjoying it. He was having the best time of his life and I’d be stupid to willingly become his entertainment. But the way he smirked at me as I stepped away from him, told me he had so many ways to make me comply to his wishes. “You’ll wish you took my offer, Nara.” I swallowed, putting more distance between us, like doing that could make me forget the way it felt when he touched me or the threat lacing his words. I turned around and hurried out of there as fast as my legs could carry me. And when I got to my Cabin, Brielle was waiting in front of the door. Her brows were drawn tightly together, her express

She pushed her way inside without waiting for an invitation. I rolled my eyes and closed the door, matching towards her.“What do you want?”She didn’t answer, she was looking around my room with a judgemental look on her face and when she looked at me, she asked, “How did you even manage to afford a place like this when I couldn’t? I heard you were from a lowly pack.”“I don’t think I have any business explaining to you how I managed it.” I crossed my arms in front of me and she scoffed.“There’s no need. I’m sure you only needed to spread your legs for an Alpha. Who was it though? Most Alphas are pretty selective of who they fuck.”“I’m not sure.” I said, not letting her words bother me. I’ve heard her call me “whore” a thousand times so this was nothing. “But now that I think about it, maybe it’s your Dad.”She glared at me, “My Dad loves my Mom too much to sleep around.”“You think so?” I cocked a brow, “Funny, I thought the man I fucked really shared a resemblance to you. If it’s

The party was unlike any of the ones I attended. It was loud, and crazy. There was shouting, fucking. When I say fucking, I mean the kind where he had the girl crying as he pumped inside her and everyone watched with a smirk. I felt like I might have to wash my eyes after this. They were all out of control, having the time of their lives. It wasn’t like the sophisticated way they usually had their parties, this felt like one of those loud clubs filled with dangerous and half crazy people. The moment I entered, I felt a gaze burning through my back and I was not surprised when I turned around and saw Landon. As usual, he was aside from the rest, sipping a glass of wine while he watched me with gleaming eyes. I could see a few half naked girls trying to convince themselves to approach him but lacked the courage. I scoffed, and looked away from him. I continued looking for Kain, but it seemed like he wasn’t here. And I bumped into someone instead. The girl wobbled on her feet

I should say it now. I should break off our fake relationship but I couldn’t bring myself to start that conversation so I just followed him even though I knew he might start asking question if I didn’t start shifting soon. All around us, people were half transformed into their wolf forms. I tried not to show how much the sight of them scared me. How utterly afraid I was of them. I danced with Kain. This was not the kind of dance we’d done at the masquerade ball. No. It almost seemed like I was affected by the drug as I swung my hips, plastered myself to Kain, rocked him, and all of it, I enjoyed, or I was just trying to forget the fate that awaited me. Or perhaps, I wanted to have one last fun where I let myself do whatever. All of that was until a face materialized in front of me. And at first, I thought I was imagining it.That familiar scowl, the disapproving look and the threat lacing his gaze when he glanced behind me with a glare at Kain. And it was then I snapped back to my

His hands roamed about my body, both of us lost in this insane, otherworldly pleasure that engulfed us. One of his hands was holding my waist, and one was at the back of my head as he broke our kiss only to begin peppering hot kisses over my face, to my ears, my most sensitive parts. I moaned when he trailed his tongue over the tip of my ears. The sound of me seemed to have made him harder. I could feel his member swelling like it would burst out of his pants and the need I felt for it, the hungry way I thought about how much I wanted to feel him buried inside me stole my breath away. “Lan.” I found myself whispering his name and I had no idea what I wanted to say when my brain was just a puddle of mush. “I want you, Lan.” I couldn’t believe I just admitted that but like I said, he’d already stolen my ability to think properly. Landon tore open my shirt in reply and I found that I didn’t even care we were outside as my breasts were exposed to him. Though, Landon’s big frame could b
