Elena’s POV“Shall we?” I asked, turning to Leon. Now that we’d secured the island bid, it was time to go. Lucian glared at me as Leon protectively placed his hand on the small of my back to lead me out of the room.However, as we were leaving, Meredith and several other people stepped in front of us, blocking our path.Meredith scowled at me. Clearly, she was unwilling to accept the ridicule bestowed upon her by Leon at the bar. And now that I’d publicly humiliated her cousin, she was irate.“Excuse us,” I said, my voice tinged with annoyance. I was in no mood to get into it with Meredith.
