Asher was currently staring at his phone telepathically willing an email to come in, he was currently sitting at his work desk in his room. His forearms rested on either side of the phone with his index finger tapping some random beat. His phone lit up and he excitedly checked it. It was a notification from his friend group's group chat. Chapter Twelve: The dream

Asher examined the photo, it showed a creature that looked like a mix of different humans with deformed bodies to form one huge deformed creature, he held back the urge to vomit and dropped the camera beside him, he rested his head against the door still breathing heavily, he placed his right hand over his heart and tried to calm himself. It was hard, he had almost died and he hadn’t been able to defend himself. He was at least glad that it wasn’t the shadow blob that had attacked him, he remembered what it said, he was in danger. Callie was sitting in the attic floor with a small canvas in-between her legs, she had a water color palette and a small bowl of water beside it. She held up a small brush visualizing the painting in her head, she wanted to test her “portal paintings” as she decided to name it. “Hmmm” she moaned swaying left to right as she contemplated heavily of what to paint. “Ugh!” She exclaimed as she fell backwards intentionally. Callie opened her eyes and she was inside the attic, she looked around and realized it wasn’t hers but she also recognized it. She had been there before. She walked over curious, her fingers traced all over the carvings committing everything to memory. It was very fine work and she smiled her eyes appreciating it. Callie woke with a start shooting up into a shooting position, she was breathing fast and her whole body ached. She looked around realizing that she was back in her bedroom. She tried moving her arm to grab her phone but buckled up from the pain. Her body was burning up. Must be the side effects from dimensional travel, she thought. She pushed herself towards the drawer where she kept the jar holding the crystal petals. Luckily for her it was right beside her bed. The jar floated out immediately she pulled it open and just like before it opened on its own. A single petal—not half unlike before floated out and landed on her hand where it was absorbed.
