EMMA'S POV The board presentation is in three days. Dominic has been working nonstop, preparing his case against his grandmother. He barely sleeps, barely eats. I find him at his desk at two in the morning, reviewing documents. "You need to rest," I say. "I'm fine." "You're not. You've had four hours of sleep in two days." He looks up, and his eyes are bloodshot. "If I don't get this right, I lose everything." "You won't lose everything." "Emma—" "Even if the board votes against you, you'll still have the girls. You'll still have me. That's not nothing." He reaches for my hand. "I know. But I want to keep the company too. Is that selfish?" "No. It's human." I pull him away from the desk, lead him to bed. He's asleep within minutes. I watch him for a while, then go back to my own room.
