Lunch started normally. While Lena, her father and Julian ate, they engaged in small talk; mostly about business, market trends and overall gossip. Julian took opportunities where he could. His intention was to get to know Lena as best as he could in this short moment. “So, Lena, how long have you been working for the company that you know enough to run it?” He asked. “First of all, Mr. Black, do not use my name casually. We’re not friends,” Lena bit out, giving Julian a stern look. Julian scoffed, not offended by her words. “Fine then,” he muttered, “answer the question, Miss. King.” “Not that it’s any of your concern, but I’ve been involved in my family’s business almost all my life. Perhaps not officially until two years ago,” Lena answered. “That’s impressive,” Julian commented. “Mhm…” Lena hummed as she took a sip of water. “But how come I never crossed paths with you?
