Chapter TwelveAriaI didn't know why I climbed down from the bed, and I certainly didn't know why I inched closer to Zane with every step.Gosh, I could see his lips move, but I couldn't hear a single thing he was saying. My brain was just focused on his lips.I knew he asked a question, but what was I supposed to answer? This had never happened to me before.I’d never been so captivated by a man to the point where my brain refused to function correctly.“Aria?” he called, more like a warning.I hesitated and leaned in a bit closer, but not close enough for us to touch. I hated the way my breath hitched from our close proximity. I hated the way my fingers itched to touch him and Zane? He looked at me expectantly, like he was waiting for me to close the gap between us. As if he was daring me to touch him. And I wanted to.God, I wanted to envelop myself in his scent. I wanted to say fuck it and crash myself into his body, but I didn't.Instead, I walked past him, needing to get into t

Chapter FourteenAriaSlowly, I added another finger to my clit, drawing gentle, unsure strokes and circles. I gaped, feeling a rush of pleasure travel down my spine, mixing with the heat of the pre-cum dripping down my legs.My teeth clamped my lower lip so hard that it became swollen and flushed. Sore, just like my thighs.I dragged my finger lower, spreading my fold, then I brought them back to the core and gently pinched the entrance to my vagina.I moaned, louder this time. My knees buckled, and my thighs trembled so hard I feared I would collapse. Instead, I imagined being trapped between his thick thighs, him holding me so I didn’t fall.I imagined him smirking down at me, that devilish, sexy smirk of his.I didn’t know when his name slipped from my mouth. “Daddy…”Not Zane. Not Alpha but Daddy. It felt so surreal falling from my mouth. My finger thrusted faster, my entire body consumed by pure hunger... so much hunger I didn’t know what to do with them.My back arched and I th

Chapter SixteenZane“I should take a look around, then,” Kieran said and left after a nod of approval from me. I looked around before making my way deeper and deeper into the forest, every step more cautious than the last as I was careful not to alert whatever was lurking in the tall bushes. If any.I wasn't sure how long I'd been walking in the woods, but it was far beyond twenty minutes. Then suddenly I stopped, and I felt my wolf rising. You know that eerie sensation you feel when someone is secretly watching you? That’s how I feel right now. The hair on the back of my neck straightened from the intensity of what I supposed to be strange pairs of eyes on me, and at once, my wolf was on high alert, and as I turned, I came face to face with the owner of the eyes.If it were a woman or a man, I couldn't tell because the person was in their wolf form. The eyes were filled with so much hate, fury, and resentment that it stood the fur of my wolf on end.We stared at each other in silence

Chapter EighteenZane“Alpha, the pack house is being attacked.”Another mind link had barely finished forming when it hit me.Pain.It was raw, blinding and ripped through my chest like someone had driven a blade straight into my heart. Like that wasn't enough, a wave of fear followed next, but surprisingly, it wasn't mine. But hers, and my entire body went rigid.“Zane!” Aria’s scream exploded through the bond. “Help me!!”It wasn’t just any sound. I could literally taste the terror, aging and desperation she held. My wolf roared inside my head so violently that the forest around me seemed to shake with it.Mine.My wife was being attacked by the goddess knows who. The thought slammed through my mind like thunder, and every instinct in me snapped into something feral. My body that had been heating because of the burns I suffered suddenly turned cold.Rage and fear mixed in my chest, the combination unlike anything I'd ever felt before.Kieran froze beside me. He hadn’t heard the scr

Chapter TwentyZane“They found her.” For a moment, the words didn’t fully register. My mind was still wrapped in rage, my hand still locked around Dario’s throat, and my wolf still snarling inside my skull. Then the meaning settled in.Her. Aria. They'd found Aria.My grip loosened immediately, and Dario dropped from my hand like dead weight and collapsed onto the floor, coughing violently as he dragged air back into his lungs. He clutched his throat, wheezing, his body shaking as he fought to breathe again, but I didn’t look at him.I didn’t care. Not one bit, because every ounce of my attention had shifted to the man standing in the doorway.“Kieran.” My voice was low.and controlled, but somehow, dangerously calm. “Talk.”Kieran stepped into the chamber fully, the tension in the room still thick from what had just happened. His eyes flicked briefly toward Dario struggling on the floor before returning to me.“We tracked the blood trail,” he said.“And?” My heart slammed once agains
