“Xander!” Bailey dropped to her knees beside him so fast she nearly slipped in the blood covering the ground. For one terrifying second, he didn’t move. Didn’t blink. Didn’t breathe. “No, no, no…” Her hands shook as she grabbed his face. “Xander, look at me.” Nothing. Panic exploded through her chest so hard it hurt. Around them, the others were still fighting off the last rogues, but Bailey couldn’t hear any of it anymore. The world had narrowed down to one thing. Him. There was blood everywhere. Too much blood.
