(Anna’s POV)The examination bed in the emergency room was quite uncomfortable.It was made of hard plastic, covered with thin paper that squeaked every time I moved.My gaze shifted to Alex.He was pacing in front of the door, as if he couldn’t stay still.His hands were buried deep in his pockets, and his face was tight with worry.“Alex, please sit down,” I said softly. “You’re making me nervous.”“I’ll sit when the doctor comes back with the X-ray results,” he replied, still pacing.I smiled, even though my ankle hurt. “It’s just a sprain. I’m sure it’s nothing serious.”“You don’t know that,” he said, stopping to look at me. “You heard the sound when you fell. It could be a torn ligament. It could be a broken bone. We need to be sure.”The worry in his voice made my chest feel warm.When we first arrived at the hospital, I insisted I didn’t need an X-ray, but Alex blatantly refused.He spoke to the nurse with authority, and in less than twenty minutes, I was taken in for X-rays
