Damien’s POV:After the call ended, I slowly lowered the phone and stared at the now blank screen for a couple of seconds before slowly putting the phone back in my pocket.One thing I had never expected was for Adrian of all people to contact me.I had expected him to call for surrender when I finally decided to attack. Adrian’s POV:The ride back to the pack with his wolves was completely silent. Everyone in the jeep knew that their alpha was in grief, so, no one dared speak up, or say something that would piss him off.Adrian sat in the back of the vehicle, and throughout the journey, he kept on cradling Lyra’s body against his chest.Her breathing had long since stopped, and her pulse was gone, but she was still his.
