Kiana POVThe carriage rocks beneath me.Each movement echoes through my body, steady and unrelenting, like a drum beating against my ribs. I keep my hands folded tightly in my lap, fingers twisting the fabric of my gown just to keep them from trembling.I cannot look at him.Not yet.Not while I am still holding onto whatever part of myself remains. His presence fills the carriage even in silence. It presses against me from every side, heavy and suffocating. I hear nothing but the turning of the wheels and the pounding of my own heart.I risk a glance. He sits across from me.Still.Silent.Watching.My gaze drops instantly back to my lap, heat rising to my cheeks.I do not understand him.Not his silence. Not the way he looks at me without really looking. Not the weight of something unspoken that lingers between us.I try to think of home.My father’s hall.My sisters laughing as they run through the corridors. The gardens, soft and full of life. But the memories do not comfort me.

King Idra pov,I tell Lila there is nothing more to the wedding. It is only a means to seal a deal. Nothing more. Nothing less. She does not argue. That pleases me.I prefer silence over questions that lead nowhere. We lie down side by side, but sleep does not come easily. My thoughts circle around power, alliances, and control. Everything is where it should be.Everything is as I planned.Morning comes faster than I expect.I do not wake Lila. There is no need. I rise quietly and leave her chambers, heading straight for Viola’s wing. I did not see her last night after my arrival, and though it means little to me, she notices such things.“Good morning, my king,” Viola says softly as I step inside.I walk to her and place a light kiss on her forehead. “How are you, Viola?”“I am well, my king,” she answers, her voice warm.“I did not come to see you last night,” I say. Not because I must, but because it is expected.“It is alright, my king. I know you always spend the night in Queen L

KING IDRA POV, 👑 👑 👑 “Take Kiana to your chambers.” Mother’s voice is firm. Unyielding. I look at Kiana. She is already looking at me. For a moment, neither of us speaks. Then I turn and begin to walk. She hesitates. I hear it in the slight pause behind me, the shift of her breath, the uncertainty in her steps. Then she follows. The walk is quiet. The halls stretch before us, long and silent, lit only by the dim glow of torches. Our footsteps echo against the stone, the only sound breaking the stillness. I do not look back. I do not need to. I can feel her presence behind me. Light. Careful. Unwanted. We reach my chambers. I push the doors open and step inside. She follows. And then Everything stops. Lila is on the bed. The moment she sees us, she pulls the sheets over herself, her expression shifting from calm to sharp in an instant. Kiana turns away immediately, her back to us, as if the sight itself is something she should not witness. “What is she do

KING IDRA POV 👑 👑 ,“Good morning, Queen Viola.”My voice is calm.Controlled.I do not look at Kiana. Not at first. Then I do.Only briefly.Just enough. My gaze settles on her, sharp, deliberate.A command without words.Leave.She understands.Of course she does. She rises immediately and walks away without a single protest.Silence follows her departure.Heavy.Uncomfortable.“Why do you treat her so coldly?”Viola’s voice cuts through it.I turn to her slowly.“She is your wife.”I say nothing for a moment. Then, simply, “She is not important.”The words come easily.Too easily.I shift my attention fully to Viola. “I came to check on you. We have not spent much time together.”She studies me.Carefully.“That is alright,” she says softly. “You should spend time with your new wife.”“No.”The answer is immediate.“I will spend the night with you today.”Something flickers in her eyes. But she shakes her head.“No, Idra. Kiana will be spending her nights in my wing until her cha

KING IDRA POV 👑 👑, My wing is finally ready. I stand at the entrance for a moment, taking everything in. It is beautiful. More than I expected. The walls are freshly restored, the floors polished, the air lighter than before. Sunlight filters through the tall windows, settling gently across the room as if nothing bad has ever happened here. As if this place has never been broken. I step inside slowly. Every detail feels new. Carefully placed. Perfect. But something in me does not settle. Not completely. “I think it looks better than before, my lady,” Fiona says softly behind me. I nod. “It does.” But beauty does not erase memory. I walk further inside, letting my fingers brush lightly against the surfaces. Then my thoughts drift elsewhere. The garden. “I want to plant edible plants,” I say. “Vegetables. Fruits.” Fiona smiles. “That would be wonderful.” I nod again. Something simple. Something that belongs to me. Not given. Not controlled. Mine. I step outs
