“You’re safe now.” Those were the only words that she could hear in her ears, even though it was not coming from anybody at that moment. “You’re only remembering the past.” “No one is following you, Elena.” She wanted to believe them. No… she needed to believe them. There was no way that her brothers would want to lie to her. Everything that they were talking about was completely true and she was just overthinking a lot of things. Since they reconnected, they had done everything to protect her. They had found her, brought her home, helped her take over the Anderson family company, and made sure she was surrounded by trusted people. They even hired extra security without making it obvious. If anyone knew how to keep her safe, it was her brothers. Elena took a deep breath and forced a smile. “They’re right,” she whispered to herself. “I’m just scared because of everything that happened.” She picked up a file and opened it.
