I should have known the Bratva would use me like this.When I reached out to Alecsander using my father's name, they could not do enough for me at first, rescuing me from the Castle, putting me up in a luxury room at the Embassy and feeding me. He charmed me, and I should have been on my guard, but after everything that had happened to me, I was vulnerable, and he used that very quickly. I had only been there a couple of days when he told me about the Ball. I tried to refuse his invitation, but it soon became very clear to me that saying no is not an option. So, here I am, dressed up like a pretty doll, on the arm of the Ambassador, trying not to trip over my own feet as I am led down the stairs. I am their prize.

When I come out of the bathroom, he is gone, and the relief I feel is tangible. I know for a fact that if he had stayed, I would have given in to him. I crawl onto the bed and curl into the pillows, falling asleep almost instantly. At this point, I have no idea where he has me locked away, and when I wake, I feel disoriented and hungry, but I notice the sky is still light, so I slip out of bed and walk to the window. My heart starts to beat faster when I can see the window is sealed. Turning, I check the other one and find that it is sealed too, so when I see people walking down below me, I start banging on the glass. I notice a couple of people look up, and the confusion on their faces makes me panic.

When I woke up again, the sun was high in the sky, and I was alone. No Doctors, no nurses and especially no Killian. I moved my limbs tentatively, and although there were a few twinges here and there, nothing was broken, and I didn't appear to have any stitches. Slowly, I pulled myself into a sitting position and looked around; apart from the steady beep-beep of the machines, the room was silent and empty. I did not hesitate; removing the cannula, I pulled the plug on the machines, silencing them all. Slipping out of the bed, I grabbed my clothes and headed for the bathroom. Dressing quickly, I was out of that room as fast as my legs could carry me, keeping to the shadows. I found an exit door at the back of the Medical Centre, probably used for deliveries, and then I was out in the late afternoon sunshine. I knew the score by now and moved as fast as I could around the perimeter of the Castle

I rush through the meeting I was called away from Tavisha for, then shower and change into clean clothes, then rush back to the Medical Centre.
