Nathaniel's Pov I assigned Evangeline a security detail Friday afternoon without telling her first because if I asked for permission she would say no and I needed her protected whether she wanted it or not. Davidson called me after the team was in place. "The detail is active. Three person rotation. One follows her everywhere, one monitors her apartment building, one stays mobile in case of emergencies." "Good. What did she say when you told her?" "I have not told her yet. I thought you should be the one to explain." "Smart." I hung up and drove to Evangeline's apartment because this conversation needed to happen in person and not over the phone where she could just hang up on me. She answered the door in jeans and a sweater and she looked surprised to see me. "What are you doing here?" "We need to talk." 

Evangeline's Pov The wedding started at two pm exactly and by one forty five I was standing in a room at the back of the cathedral wearing a white dress that cost more than most people made in a year and trying not to throw up. My father knocked on the door. "Can I come in?" "Yes." He walked in wearing a suit I had never seen before and he looked older than I remembered and tired in a way that made me think he was not doing well.

I asked. "I found out what happened to David Aaron." "Is he dead?" "Yes. Him and his entire family. Wife, two daughters, everyone. They were found this morning in a warehouse outside Singapore. Professional hit. Made to look like a robbery gone wrong."
