Eva's POV The moment Ethan placed the folder on the table, something in the room shifted in a way that was impossible to ignore, like the air itself had grown heavier, more careful, more aware of every word that would follow. I didn’t move, didn’t speak, didn’t even look at him directly at first, because I needed to understand what he was doing before I reacted to it. He opened the folder slowly, not with hesitation, but with intention, as though he knew exactly how much weight a simple action like that could carry in a room like this. The papers inside were neatly arranged, crisp, unmistakably official, and when he slid the top sheet forward toward the panel, I felt my chest tighten slightly without fully understanding why. “These are photocopies.” His voice was cal. “Of the original blueprints. They are registered, timestamp and signed.”
