THERE DAYS

AARON'S POV"What?""Seriously?""An excursion?"“Where are we going?”"We're actually going somewhere?”“OMG!”Wide gasps and excited whispers filled the classroom. A few students started talking over one another, while others turned toward their friends with excited expressions.Kyle looked like he had just been handed the best news of his life. "An excursion?" he whispered, grinning. "This is perfect."I barely heard him.My mind was still stuck on one thing. An excursion.I slowly glanced sideways.Jack was still sitting beside me, his arms folded across his chest, his expression as unreadable as ever.An excursion with him?My stomach twisted.I didn't even know what that was supposed to mean.Professor Rachelle raised one hand, trying to calm everyone down, but the room remained filled with excited voices."Professor, where are we going?""Are we staying somewhere?""Is there going to be a pool?"Someone from the front laughed. "Forget the pool. Just tell us if there will be goo

EMOTIONAL CONFLICT

AARON'S POVThe bell rang before Professor Rachelle could say anything else. The sound immediately drew everyone's attention, but Professor Rachelle simply clapped her hands once, making the room settle down again. "Alright, everyone. One final thing before you leave."A few students groaned playfully.Professor Rachelle smiled."I want everyone to start getting your things ready before Monday morning. We will meet at the school bus park, so please make sure you're there on time. The exact meeting time and all other necessary details will be communicated before the excursion."She picked up the papers from her desk and tapped them into a neat stack."Your parents will also receive an email from the school with the excursion details, including the accommodation arrangements, schedule, what you're expected to bring and the rules you will need to follow. So please make sure your parents check their emails."A few students nodded."And since this is a school-organized trip, I expect every

GETTING ATTACHED

JACK'S POVI barely made it out of the classroom before the smile I had been fighting for the past ten minutes finally broke across my face.Fuck.I couldn't believe this.Three days.Three whole days with Aaron.I had been sitting there beside him while Professor Rachelle explained everything, pretending I didn't care, pretending the announcement meant absolutely nothing to me while my heart was beating out of my chest. The moment she had said the excursion would last three days, I had already known I was screwed. Then she'd explained that we'd be spending more time with our project partners, taking part in activities together, eating together and exploring the location with them.I had to keep my face completely blank. I couldn't even look at Aaron because I knew he might see it.He would see everything. The excitement. The stupid smile I was trying to suppress. The fact that I was already imagining what those three days would be like.So when Professor Rachelle finally left, I had

STRANGE

AARON'S POVI hadn't expected anyone to be in the restroom. I pushed the door open, and almost reached for the sink but stopped the moment I saw him standing there.Jack.My eyes immediately went to his face.He was smiling. His entire expression looked light and relaxed and there was something so genuine about it.I stared at him for another second, trying to understand what I had just seen. Then his eyes met mine and the smile disappeared instantly. My chest tightened.Oh.Maybe he didn’t want to see me.I quickly looked away, pretending I hadn't noticed anything.I suddenly remembered the last time I had asked if he was okay and how harshly he'd shut me down.Maybe I shouldn't have come over to him earlier. Maybe he was still angry. Or maybe seeing me simply reminded him of what happened yesterday. He had gotten sick because of me after giving me his jacket, and I had spent the entire morning worrying that he blamed me for it.I swallowed quietly. I wanted to ask if he was feeling

NOT HIS DATE

AARON'S POVI stood there for another second, still holding my tray.Claire was sitting across from Chloe like it was the most normal thing in the world, while Chloe looked like she was still trying to figure out why she was there in the first place. Then Claire casually pointed toward Chloe's plate. "You eat that a lot, don't you?"Chloe blinked. She looked down at her food before slowly looking back at Claire. "Uh... yes."Claire smiled. "Is it your favorite?"Chloe nodded slowly. "Yeah.""I noticed."My brows immediately pulled together.I stared at Claire. She noticed? My eyes dropped to Chloe's plate. It was true. Chloe had been eating the same thing almost every time we came to have lunch in the cafeteria. But Claire had noticed that? Had she been watching her?I looked between them again. Then I suddenly realized I was still standing in the middle of the cafeteria with my tray in my hands.Shit.I quickly looked away and walked toward one of the empty tables. The table behind th

I'LL GO

AARON'S POVClaire had said it so casually, as though there was nothing unusual about her asking Chloe to be her date.I took another bite, but my mind wasn't really on the food anymore. So Jack knew? In the first place, why wasn't he going with Claire?I glanced down at my tray.None of this made sense.Maybe they had simply decided to go separately. Maybe Jack had another friend he wanted to go with. Maybe Claire didn't care about having a date partner and had just decided to ask Chloe at the last minute. That had to be it.I nodded slightly to myself. Yes, that made sense. But why did I still feel like there was something I wasn't understanding?I heard Chloe shift in her seat behind me. "Are you sure?" she asked."About what?" Claire asked.Chloe hesitated at first. "Going together."Claire laughed softly. "Very sure." There was a small pause."You don't have to say yes just because I asked." She added.I could picture Chloe staring at her. She had gone completely quiet now. Then

THE MASQUERADE GALA

JACK'S POVI knew Aaron was going to try to talk me out of it. “Are you sure?” He asked.I smiled a little and leaned back against the headboard. “Yeah.”He came closer, his expression still worried. “Jay, you don't have to go just because I wanted to.”“I know that too.”“Then why are you insisting?”I looked at him for a moment. Because I wanted to.I wanted to spend time with him somewhere that didn't involve these walls, dim lights, locked doors and the version of myself I had created for this place. I wanted to see what it felt like to stand beside Aaron somewhere normal, even if only for a few hours. And maybe that was becoming more important to me than I wanted to admit. There was something about Aaron that had slowly become difficult to ignore. Whenever his name appears on my phone, my heart flutters with excitement. Whenever I hear him laughing, I find myself smiling without meaning to. Even now, with him standing in front of me looking so worried, I couldn't bring myself to

THE CLUE

AARON'S POVAt first, when I heard ‘Jack', the first thing that came to my mind was ‘Has he arrived already?’So I turned around, half expecting to see him standing there with his mysterious date, but there was no Jack in sight. It was Deaton. His mask was barely a mask at all, leaving most of his face uncovered, so I recognized him immediately. He wasn't looking at me, though. He was staring at Jay.Deaton didn't say anything at first. He just stared at Jay. I wasn't sure what was going on. His eyes moved over Jay's face, then down to his black clothes before slowly coming back up again. Then his gaze shifted to me. He looked at me for a moment before looking back at Jay.I frowned slightly.Jay had gone strangely quiet beside me, and I felt his fingers tighten around my arm. I glanced down at his hand briefly, then back at Deaton. Maybe Jay was offended that Deaton had mistaken him for someone else. I couldn't blame him. It was a little strange.Deaton suddenly let out a short laugh

STOLEN KISS

AARON'S POVI couldn't stop thinking about the message. You want to know who Jack's date is? How the fuck did he know that?I stared down at my plate, barely touching the food anymore as the question kept running through my head. Had U.X. been watching me? Was someone actually monitoring me? Or was he somehow just getting inside my head? That sounded ridiculous. But then again, everything about U.X. was ridiculous. He always seemed to know things he shouldn't know, and now he somehow knew that I wanted to find out who Jack's date was.I slowly looked around the hall. There were people everywhere, moving between tables, talking, laughing and dancing, but I couldn't see Jack anywhere. My eyes moved from one side of the hall to the other, searching through the crowd for him even though I didn't know what I was actually expecting to find.Nothing.I frowned and looked back at my phone.Maybe U.X. was somewhere here. Maybe he was watching me right now.The thought made my stomach twist.I

I LOVE YOU

AARON'S POVI was still holding Jay's cheeks when he slowly pulled back, his eyes meeting mine. Neither of us said anything, and then his gaze dropped to my lips. The look in his eyes changed. Before I could even process it, he leaned forward again, one hand sliding around my waist as he pulled me closer and captured my lips.My eyes widened. Then I instinctively closed them. His head tilted slightly as our lips moved together, his hand still resting firmly around my waist while one of my hands remained against his cheek. I didn't know what to do with my other hand, so I ended up gripping lightly onto his shirt as he kissed me again. My heart was pounding so hard that I was sure he could feel it.This wasn't like the quick kiss from before. This time, he actually meant it.I slowly tilted my head in the opposite direction, letting his lips move against mine for another few seconds before the thought suddenly hit me.We weren't in the club. There were no private rooms here.Anyone coul
