Natalia sat with her hands clasped in her lap, trying to calm herself. She knew something was wrong from the moment she first felt dizzy, but the test results were beyond anything she could have imagined. She looked at the doctor, still unable to process the words she had just heard.“You’re pregnant, Natalia,” the doctor said calmly, as if he hadn’t just dropped a bombshell on her life.Natalia’s heart seemed to stop for a second. It was the last thing she expected to hear. She felt Daniel’s hands on hers—warm, firm—trying to offer her support.“Pregnant?” she repeated, her voice barely a whisper. The words felt strange coming out of her mouth.Daniel, sitting beside her, looked at her with a mixture of surprise and concern.“Is it Simon’s?” he asked, though he already seemed to know the answer.Natalia nodded slowly, still in shock. Her thoughts returned to that one night she’d spent with Simon, a night he didn’t remember—or claimed not to remember. The moment flashed through her mi

Natalia clenched her fists, trying not to let the tears get the better of her.“I don’t want to get back together with you,” she replied, her voice tense as she struggled to hold back her tears. “I’m just telling you the truth…”“Please!” Simon interrupted her, snorting with disdain. “It’s obvious you do want to. You’re so desperate you’ve made this up to fool me.”Natalia stared at him, resigned. Her eyes showed deep sadness, but also a determination she hadn’t had before.“I don’t want anything from you,” she repeated in a whisper, exhausted. “I was just doing my duty by telling you.”Simon looked at her with a cruel smile.“You’ve always been an excellent actress,” he said in a low tone, moving closer again with a threatening presence. “But I’ve learned to read you. You’re just playing the victim so I’ll take pity on you.”Natalia didn’t respond immediately, feeling the weight of his contempt.“I’m not Isabella…”“What do you mean by that?” he interrupted her sharply.“Think what y

Simon rushed over to Isabella, driven by a protective instinct.“What happened?!” he asked, his voice trembling with concern as his hands searched for injuries.“She hit me,” Isabella accused, her voice trembling with emotion and pain. “Natalia hit me in the stomach! My baby…”“This will work,” he thought, as a silent laugh formed in his mind.Stunned, Natalia shook her head, struggling to find words amid the chaos.“That’s not true!” she exclaimed, shaking her head emphatically. “I didn’t do anything to her!”Simon interrupted her, feeling his patience running out.“Shut up already!” he shouted, lifting Isabella into his arms with palpable determination. “We need a doctor!” he yelled, his voice echoing down the hallway.Natalia felt her heart was about to burst out of her chest. While Simon called the doctor, she grabbed her phone and dialed Daniel’s number, her mind spinning in a whirlwind of despair.“Daniel, I need your help. Isabella is… she’s…” The words caught in her throat.“W

Three years ago…Simon stood at the altar, nervous but filled with love and hope. Today he would marry Isabella, his first love, the only woman he had ever imagined spending the rest of his life with. The hall was filled with family and friends, all waiting for that long-awaited moment. However, an uneasy murmur began to ripple through the crowd. The minutes passed, and there was no sign of Isabella.Frowning, he looked at his father, who was approaching with a serious expression. His father, Don Emilio Cáceres, took him by the arm and led him to a secluded corner. Simon felt his unease turn to fear.“Son,” his father whispered, “Isabella isn’t going to show up.”Simon felt the ground shift beneath his feet. He tried to understand, to process it. What did he mean she wouldn’t show up? He had waited his whole life for this moment.“It can’t be… Dad, there has to be an explanation,” he said, his face pale. “Where is Isabella?”Don Emilio avoided his gaze, and his voice held a mix of con

Present day. A few days later…Isabella walked through the room in her house, her elegant silk dress brushing the floor with every nervous step. The spacious room was bathed in the soft afternoon light, reflecting off the delicate linen curtains adorning the windows. But the calm outside could not quell the internal storm brewing in her mind.Although she had achieved what she so desired—Simon was finally on her side, completely distrusting Natalia—a knot of uncertainty continued to torment her.She stopped in front of the full-length mirror, observing herself. She knew she was beautiful—the woman who had managed to win Simon over—but for how long? She pressed her lips together, feeling a pang of insecurity. Simon was blinded now, yes, by the loss of that child who was never born, a child she would never have let be born. But what if that blindness didn’t last? What if at some point he realized the truth? She shook her head, trying to push those thoughts away.“No, he won’t find out,”

The first few weeks of marriage were a silent torment for Natalia. The house, which she had always imagined filled with love and shared moments, now felt bigger and emptier than ever.Simon didn’t come home until nightfall, when exhaustion overcame him and he had no choice but to share the same roof with her—though only to shut himself away in his office or the guest room. The contempt in his eyes was palpable, a dagger that pierced Natalia every time their eyes met, even if only for a few seconds.“You don’t need to try to be nice, Natalia. I’m not a man who forgets so easily,” he had told her one night, when she tried to serve him dinner in an attempt to make that house something resembling a home. She lowered her gaze, swallowing the pain his words caused her.“Simon, I don’t want you to feel obligated to do anything. I just… wanted to help you feel comfortable here.”Simon let out a bitter laugh, and his eyes reflected a hardness that made her tremble.“Help me? Natalia, do you re

The dim light in the apartment barely illuminated Natalia’s face as she breathed heavily, overcome by a nervous breakdown that shook her relentlessly. She had called Delia in a broken, trembling voice, seeking a little support from her friend as she felt the weight of loneliness closing in on her until it threatened to suffocate her.Delia, sitting beside her, stroked her back in an attempt to calm her, though her own thoughts seemed clouded by the fear that Simon had sown everywhere.“Natalia, you need to try to calm down,” Delia said in a soft but firm tone. “If you let this consume you, you’re giving Simon more power over you.” You know what he wants.“Calm down?” Natalia turned toward her, her face flushed from tears and anguish. “Delia, I have a lump in my chest… it rises up to my throat and I can barely breathe when I think of Simon’s threats. Every time I close my eyes, I see his damn smile, convinced he’s going to win.“That jerk isn’t going to get anywhere,” her friend tried

Daniel clenched his fists tightly, trying to control the rage that was consuming him.He pulled out his phone and dialed a number he only used in delicate situations. The voice of one of his men answered instantly, deep and confident.“I need you to handle the matter I told you about as soon as possible,” Daniel said in a low, determined tone. “I have to give her some breathing room as soon as I can; I can’t let this get any more out of control.”“I can do it, but we have to be careful,” the man replied, confidence in his voice. “One false move and he’ll find out.”Daniel sighed, understanding the risks, but without hesitation.“I know we’re walking a tightrope, but we don’t have time to waste,” he said firmly. “If Simon keeps harassing her, he’ll reach a point of no return. I won’t let Natalia stay trapped in this sick game.”“Understood,” the man said after a brief silence. “I’ll get started right away.”Daniel hung up, feeling like he was taking control for the first time in weeks.

Natalia woke up slowly, feeling the weight of her body as if she had been underwater for hours. Beside her, Daniel watched her with a mixture of relief and concern in his eyes.“How are you feeling?” he asked gently, taking her hand in his.She nodded weakly, but the words that came out of her mouth were almost a whisper.“I still feel like all of this is going to swallow me whole,” she sighed heavily. “Simon won’t stop just because of a complaint. I know him, Daniel; he’ll find a way to keep pushing.”Daniel gently squeezed her hand, trying to convey strength through the touch.“If he tries, I’ll put him in jail,” he said with a determined voice. “You’re not alone in this, Natalia. You don’t have to face all of this on your own.”But the fear in her eyes wouldn’t fade. She knew all too well how Simon’s mind worked, and as much as she wanted to believe she was protected, fear coiled in her chest like a snake.“I know you’re trying, Daniel, but… I’m scared of what he might do to the ba

Nelly’s face was set with determination, as if she truly believed that handing Natalia’s baby over to Isabella was the right thing to do.Natalia, on the other hand, looked petrified, with a mixture of fear and despair that Simon couldn’t ignore. However, his own confusion was too great for him to focus on what she was feeling.“What are you saying, Mom?” he asked, though deep down he already knew the answer. His mother had never hidden her contempt for Natalia. “This has nothing to do with Isabella.”“Of course it does!” Nelly exclaimed, her fury barely contained. “Natalia is a manipulator, and you know it. She’s turned everyone against you, but I’m here to protect that baby from the lies she’s spun.”Simon closed his eyes for a moment, trying to calm the whirlwind of thoughts consuming him.His mother had always had a unique ability to ignite a flame of doubt within him. And just as he was about to respond, Daniel spoke, breaking the fragile silence that had fallen over the room.“Y
