Chapter 1

ANNALISE "Well Well, look who we have here." That was the first thing I heard when I stepped into the hallway. My heart leapt in my chest as I felt their eyes turn to follow me. They always did. Chapter 2

ANNALISE I pushed him away from me so hard and didn’t get to watch him fall as I turned to see that Mr. Dane was standing ten feet away. He kind of looked tired of the sight in the way teachers always looked when they had stopped being surprised by anything. "Step back," he ordered Knox. Knox obeyed… He almost kissed me! This fucking jerk almost placed his disgusting lips on me! Mr. Dane looked down and searched through his folder, retrieving two test results. He handed the folder to another student in our year and asked him to distribute it. Then he turned and looked between us. "Both of you, my office, now." ANNALISE My brows lifted in disgust at the jinx. "I asked first," he snapped at me with furrowed brows. A dry scoff left my lips. "We go to the same school," he answered matter of fact. His father's face broke into a delighted smile that was annoyingly wide. ANNALISE The sound of the bedroom door swinging open made me stop halfway. My hands stilled over the edge of my dress which I had been lifting over my head. I spun around from the mirror to find a smirking Knox standing there. "Knox!" I yelled while yanking the hem of my dress down on instinct. It bunched around my waist. But I was wearing biker shorts underneath. Anger surged in my blood vessels when I realised he hadn't knocked. Right when I wanted to change into something comfortable—that’s when he chose to bring his sorry ass in? Oh, I was so done with him!
