Avery.Sophie dropped the takeout bag on the counter and started pulling out containers like nothing was wrong. I stood frozen with my thighs still sticky and the taste of Sean’s fingers somewhere in the back of my throat. Sean kept his back to both of us at the sink, rinsing a glass that did not need rinsing.“You two look weird,” Sophie said.
