Sergio's POV I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, and sleep would not come. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Leandro in the arena. I saw Ramiro's claws tearing into his side, saw the black blood pouring from the wound, and I saw Leandro's knees buckle as he hit the ground. I saw him looking up at me, his golden eyes filled with pain and regret, and I heard his voice, weak and fading, telling me he was sorry. I pressed my palms against my eyes, trying to force the images away. But they would not leave. They clung to me like shadows, whispering that tomorrow would be the end of everything.
