The Silver Wolf

The silver wolf stood completely still in the clearing. Its glowing fur made it look almost unreal, like something from an old story. Those pitch-black eyes stayed locked on me, pulling at something deep in my chest.Everyone else had gone quiet. Even Mira looked uneasy.Damien tried to push himself up again.“Stay away from her,” he growled, but his voice came out weak and raspy. The silver wolf ignored him and took another slow step forward.“My name is Nyra. I have watched bloodlines like yours for longer than most can remember. I do not come to take your child by force. I come to offer you freedom.”Mira growled low.“Nyra. You should not be here. This is not your business.”Nyra didn’t even glance at her. She kept looking straight at me.“You are tired, Elara. Tired of running. Tired of everyone wanting a piece of what grows inside you. I can give you something no one else can. A real choice.”I swallowed hard. My body still felt drained from using that power earlier.“What kind

Fragile Peace

We left the clearing just before the sky started to lighten.Mira led the way with three of her white wolves. I stayed close to Damien, supporting him as much as I could. He was walking better now, but every step still looked painful. Lila walked on my other side, quiet and watchful. The forest felt different in the early morning light. Birds were starting to sing, but it did not feel peaceful. It felt like the calm before something worse came.Damien brushed against me as we walked.“How are you feeling?” he asked through our bond. His voice was still rough, but warmer than before.“Tired,” I admitted. “Worried. The pup has been quiet since Nyra left.”He nudged my shoulder gently.“That silver wolf got into your head, didn’t she?”I did not answer right away. Part of me kept thinking about what she offered — a life without fighting, without fear for our baby. But then I felt Damien’s warmth beside me and knew I could not leave him.The pup finally spoke, sounding small and sleepy.“

From one Monster to the Other

We finally reached a narrow path between two big rocks.Mira stopped and turned around.“Put them down here,” she said. “We make our stand.”They lowered us carefully onto the ground.Damien immediately dragged himself closer to me until our bodies touched. Even hurt and tired, he tried to protect me.“Are you okay?” he asked through our bond. His voice was rough.“I feel empty,” I answered honestly. “Like I gave too much. But I am still here.”The pup stayed quiet. That scared me more than the noise behind us.The first Forsaken wolves reached the opening. There were so many of them. Their eyes looked crazy, like they had lost their minds a long time ago.Victor stood behind them on higher ground, watching with a cold face.Mira and her wolves formed a tight line in front of us. Lila joined them, even though she was bleeding from several places.“You do not have to do this,” Damien called out to Victor. “We were brothers once.”Victor smiled sadly.“We stopped being brothers the day

The Last Stand

We all froze at the cave entrance. The scarred ancient wolf stepped fully into the light. Its yellow eyes looked hungry and old. Chains rattled around its neck with every movement. It smelled like dust and old blood.Mira pushed forward, her fur bristling. "This place was hidden. How did you find it?"The scarred wolf laughed. It was a rough, painful sound. "I have been trapped in these mountains for centuries. I felt the child’s power the moment it woke up. It called to me. Just like it called to the others."Damien moved in front of me, still weak but trying to look strong. "You are not taking them. I do not care how old you are."The scarred wolf tilted its head and looked at Damien with amusement. "Brave words from a half-dead alpha. You can barely stand. How do you plan to stop me?"I felt the pup stir inside me again. Its voice was tired but worried. "Mama, this one is different. It is broken inside. It wants to use me to break its chains."I stepped beside Damien. "What do yo

Darkness

The inside of the cave was cold and dark. We moved deeper until we found a wide space with some dried grass and old blankets. Mira and her wolves stayed near the blocked entrance while Lila kept watch a little further in. I lay down beside Damien, our bodies pressed close for warmth. He licked my ear gently. "You scared me back there. Do not do that again. Using that power takes too much from you.""I had no choice," I whispered. "I could not watch that thing kill Mira."Damien rested his head on my neck, right over his mark. Even after everything, his touch still sent heat through my body. I remembered how he had taken me during my first shift, how rough and hungry he was. My skin tingled at the memory. The pup had been quiet for too long. That worried me more than the monster outside.Mira came over and sat down. "We are safe for now. The rocks will hold. But the scarred one is patient. It will wait us out."Lila sighed. "So what is the plan? We cannot stay here forever."Before Mir

No way out

The Shadow Council wolves attacked from every side. Their dark gray bodies moved fast through the moonlight. Teeth snapped and claws slashed as chaos exploded around us again. I stayed close to Damien, my heart pounding so hard it hurt. We had just escaped one fight only to run straight into another.Damien stood in front of me, legs shaking but refusing to back down. "Stay behind me, Elara," he growled. Even weak, his voice carried that commanding tone that always made my body react.Mira and her white wolves jumped into the fight, trying to hold the line. Lila fought beside them, snarling with everything she had left. But the Shadow Council wolves were organized and ruthless. They seemed to know exactly what they were doing. One of them broke through and lunged straight at me. Damien met it head on, crashing into it with a painful growl. They rolled across the ground, biting and clawing. Damien was still hurt from before, but he fought like a madman to protect me."Damien!" I cried

Heat in the Dark

The cave was so small we could barely move. The sound of claws scraping against rock outside grew louder. The Shadow Council wolves were right there, just beyond the narrow entrance. Mira stood guard with her remaining wolves, body tense and ready. Lila sat near the back, breathing hard.I pressed myself tightly against Damien. His body was warm despite all the blood and injuries. Even now, with death so close, I felt that pull toward him. The mate bond hummed between us, making my skin sensitive wherever we touched.Damien turned his head and nuzzled my neck, right over the mark he had given me. His breath was hot against my fur. "If this is our last night," he whispered through our bond, "I want to spend it reminding you who you belong to."Heat rushed through me. My body responded even though I was exhausted. I pressed closer, letting my fur brush against his. "Tell me," I whispered back. "Tell me what you would do if we had time."His voice grew darker, full of that rough hunger I

Desperate Moments

The cave felt smaller with every second. The Shadow Council wolves kept pushing at the entrance, growling and snapping. Rocks scraped loudly as they tried to break through. Mira and her wolves fought hard to hold them back, but I could tell they were getting tired. Lila stood ready, breathing fast, her fur covered in blood. I stayed pressed tight against Damien in the back corner. His body was warm and solid even though he was hurt. The mate bond pulled at me stronger than ever. Even with death so close, I could not stop wanting him. Damien nuzzled my neck again, slower this time. His breath felt hot on my skin. "If these are our last hours," he said through our bond, his voice low and rough, "I need you to know something. From the first night I took you, I knew I would never let you go. Every time I touched you, every time I buried myself inside you, it was more than lust. You are mine, Elara. My mate. My woman." His words sent heat straight between my legs. I rubbed my body again

The final stand

The cave had become a death trap. The Shadow Council wolves pushed harder, forcing their way through the narrow entrance. Mira and her remaining wolves fought with everything they had left, but they were losing ground fast. Lila stood beside them, tired and bleeding, still snapping at any wolf that got too close. I stayed pressed against Damien in the back. His body felt hot against mine. Even with all the blood and pain, the mate bond kept pulling us together. My heart raced from fear and something else. Something deeper. Damien turned his head and ran his tongue slowly along my neck, right over the mark he gave me. His voice came through our bond, low and rough. "If this is really the end, I need to feel you one more time. Even if it is just like this." I shivered and pushed closer to him. "I want you too," I whispered back. "I keep remembering how you felt inside me when you marked me. How full you made me. How you took what you wanted." He growled softly, his body reacting.

The Last Breath

The cave had turned into a nightmare. Wolves snarled and crashed against each other in the tight space. The Shadow Council kept pushing forward, their eyes glowing with pure hate. Mira fought like a wild animal, slashing and biting to keep them back, but she was slowing down. Lila jumped in beside her, limping badly but still snapping at legs and throats. I stayed glued to Damien in the darkest corner. Our bodies pressed together so tightly I could feel every beat of his heart. Even now, with death breathing down our necks, the bond between us burned hot. Damien turned his head and licked slowly down my neck, right over his mark. His tongue was rough and warm. "If we die here," he said through our bond, voice thick and low, "I want my last memory to be of you. Of how you feel. How you taste." I shivered hard and rubbed my body against his. "Then touch me like you mean it," I whispered back. "Even if it is only like this. Make me feel you." He growled softly and nipped at my ear. H
