Chapter 61Aria Blake ~•~ “Claire, maybe I should take them to London. They can be with you for a while… I’ll come back to Texas and handle everything.”The first time Claire suggested that I run away, I thought her plan was ridiculous and didn’t want to run away from my problems all the time. But from what was happening, running was the best option. If I stayed back in Texas with my life, Julian would snatch them away from me. “Are you sure that’s the best decision? You know I’m really busy with work and would be moving around a lot?” Claire expressed her concerns. I nodded frantically. “Yes, I know… but you’re the safest option. I don’t have anyone else to reach out to,” I admitted, my voice cracked. “I don’t mind if you’re moving around. I don’t really need to come back to Texas to sort things out. I’ll be with them.” She let out a sharp exhale. “What about Samuel? Do you also want to leave him?” she asked, worried. I closed my eyes briefly, drawing a shaky breath. “Samuel s

Chapter 63Julian Cross ~•~ I’d asked my private investigator to send someone to monitor Aria. After she disappeared once, I knew that the chances of her trying to leave again were high. And just like I’d predicted, she actually tried to run away with our kids. It was a good thing they found out before she executed her plans. I couldn’t even imagine how it would have felt if I let her slip away from me the second time. I bet I wouldn’t have been able to find her again. The airport officials told me that they were already holding the three of them in a private room. Cole and I drove down there. He insisted on following me even though I told him that he should rest because I could handle it on my own. When we got there, they led us to the room. As I entered, Aria glared at me. Her eyes were puffy and red. I could tell that she had been crying her eyes out ever since she got caught. The twins didn’t even acknowledge my presence. I wondered what she had told them about me or if

Chapter 65Aria Blake~•~ When I opened my eyes, I found myself in an unfamiliar room. It looked like a hospital but I couldn’t smell any antiseptic or those weird smells from the hospital. I tried to sit up, but I was met with a terrible headache. I didn’t bother trying a second time. A deep sigh escaped my lips. It felt like I had been asleep for a full day. The last thing I remember was talking to Cole at the airport. “Fuck! Where are my kids?” I whispered to myself. Fresh tears filled my eyes as I remembered that Julian was about to take them. Did he do something to me, so I wouldn’t stop him from taking them to New York? If he did, then he was really heartless. I didn’t want to be confined to a bed. I wanted to see my kids. I had to protect them from Julian. “Nurse! Doctor!” I yelled at the top of my voice. I wanted someone's attention. Anybody who could hear me. It took a while before the door finally swung open. I froze when I saw who it was. The maid from Julian’

Chapter 67Aria Blake~•~ “You’re awake,” Julian said as he walked into the room. I felt a lot better. “Yes, and I’m ready to leave.” He shook his head. “Not yet.”My face twisted into a frown. “Why?” I demanded, confused. “Why don't you want me to leave?” “The nurse needs to clear you first.” “Clear me first?” I asked with a humorless chuckle. “Why are you acting like I am in a registered hospital and not your house?” I knew what he was trying to do. He didn’t want me to leave. “She’s a registered nurse, and you know I’ll always bring the best people when it comes to your health.” I rolled my eyes at him. “Oh, please.” “Aria…” “I’m still not over the fact that you brought me here without my consent. Do you know the damage your actions have caused?” I replied, irritation palpable in my voice. “What damage did it cause?” I opened my mouth to speak but closed it immediately. I didn’t want to tell Julian that Samuel and I were having issues because of him. “That’s none of

Chapter 69Julian Cross ~•~ How was it so easy for Aria to walk around the house without getting emotional? She didn’t even look like she was nostalgic. And the worst part about everything was that she laughed in my face when I said that I knew she would come back. I wanted us to try again. I wanted a second chance with Aria, but it felt like I was the only one holding on to what we used to have. Well, she had someone else in her life. But I still believed that we would eventually find our way back to each other. As I watched her walk away, I was tempted to follow her. But I decided to stand there and give her space. If I tried to intrude, I would only push her away. I needed to change my strategy if I wanted her to change how she felt towards me.But I had no idea what I was meant to do. At least, I’d gotten the kids and that was the first step to bringing her closer to me. I didn’t know what her plans were, but I knew that if she tried to run with the kids, I would be alerte
