Chapter 52Aria Blake ~•~ “I don’t think you’ve been really focused on work,” my boss said as he folded his hands on top of his desk. I forced a smile onto my face. “I’m sorry.” “Sorry isn’t going to cut it. You’re the leader of your team and you can’t be caught slacking.” This wasn’t the first time he had called me to his office over the past few weeks. Ever since Julian had shown up in Texas, my life had been a total mess. Between work, the kids, Samuel, and Julian constantly trying to push my boundaries, I barely had enough energy to think straight.“You’ve made three mistakes on important files this week alone,” he continued. “That’s not like you.”I couldn’t even argue with him because he was right. I lowered my gaze. “I’m sorry, sir. It won’t happen again.” There was a beat of silence. Then he asked. “Are you going through something?
