Semua Bab Daddy's Pet.: Bab 91 - Bab 99

[Grant’s POV]My father’s voice echoes behind me as I move toward the large mansion in front of me and when we reach the front door, I shove it open.Once inside, I move straight to the large staircase in the middle of the front alcove while Gianna silently lets me lead her along. When we reach the stairs, we carefully take them one at a time and when we reach the second floor where the sleeping quarters are, I head to my grandfather’s room. However, as we reach, I suddenly stop moving and I’m left staring at the door in front of me.“Grant,” Gianna murmurs as I just stand there staring. “Aren’t you going to go in?”As she speaks, she gently grabs my hand that rests on her hip and she moves it, placing it at my side, making it clear that she feels it would be best that I go in alone.“It’s fine,” she tells me as I shift my gaze to hers. “I’m certain that he wants to see you.”“Maybe,” I chuckle. “But he isn’t exactly happy with me right now.”I was certain that father told him about m

[Gianna’s POV]I watch Grant as he steps into his grandfather’s room and when he turns to give me a look of reassurance, I simply nod.Go on, I think, watching him. Go and see him.It is clear that he is worried. The way that he is acting is plenty enough proof of that, and I could only hope that things weren’t too bad and that whatever ailment he was dealing with would be cured soon.Once Grant disappears, I turn my gaze to the two who stand silently beside me and realize that I was now alone with my enemy.Dammit. I think as Rachel’s gaze slowly trails down my body, clearly sizing me up. Maybe I should have tried to go with Grant, but since I didn’t, I would have to play nice for now.“Rachel, was it?” I ask, deciding to break the silence first. “It’s good to see you again.”“Is it?” She asks, making it clear she has no intention of playing nice. “I’m afraid I can’t say the same…what was your name again?”“Gianna,” I smile. “My name is Gianna.”“Gianna,” she repeats, crossing her ar

[Grant’s POV]I shift my gaze to Gianna to find that her large gaze is on me. She’s taking me in expectantly and I know that this is her way of telling me that you can let out everything that you’ve been holding close to your heart. But where to begin?Did I start with my birth, my childhood? Do I tell her the good things and then move into the bad thing? Or did I just tell her about when I came to live with Anthony and my father?Honestly, I didn’t care to relive that time because it was the worst years for me. I was trapped, lonely, and mourning during that time, but if I wanted to try to shift my relationship with Gianna, then it would be best that I told her the whole story.“I didn’t always live with my father.” I begin, deciding to start from the beginning. “My mother wasn’t his wife. She was a woman that he was sneaking around with and when she became pregnant with me, the only thing he was willing to do was support her while she carried me and after my birth.”“It was supposed

[Gianna’s POV]A week later, I stand in front of the large house that Grant bought for us. Honestly, I was a bit surprised that it was a house and not a mansion, but I guess Grant wasn’t as extravagant as I thought he would be. Even if his actions screamed money and success, what he did contradicted that a bit, but maybe he was holding back because of me?Even now, I was still uncomfortable with everything. This life. A man like him not only being my husband, even if in contract, but also the father of my baby. It would take a bit to get used to it, but I wasn’t exactly willing to let myself do that.As it was, the time frame that our contract laid out was ticking away and since signing the contract and getting married, Grant and I didn’t really sit down to talk about what came next.Of course, there was no way that I was going to abandon my baby, but I was certain that Grant wouldn’t let an heir slip between his fingers either, well, that was if the baby was a boy. If it was a girl,

[Grant’s POV]“Ah, I can’t wait to see sweet Gianna.” Noel announces. “Can’t you drive faster?”“Do you want me to get arrested for wreckless driving?” I counter.“That will only happen if you get caught.”Sighing, I focus on the road ahead of me as Noel begins to fiddle with the radio of my car.How many times had she changed the station since getting in after I picked her up? Too many, and it was beginning to become annoying.“Can’t you pick a station and stick with it?” I demand.“What’s got you so on edge?”“It’s just…”Honestly, I don’t know why I’m so on edge, but just the thought of Gianna being home alone leaves me restless. Of course, there was no way that she would be in danger of anyone since no one knew where we moved to, but even then, I can’t shake this unpleasant feeling.“Are you already having separation anxiety?” Noel pushes, hitting the nail right on the head. “Poor, Gianna, why on earth would she be with such a clingy man.”“If you don’t shut up, I’ll make you walk
