Leo’s POVI watched Freya drive away into the night and my chest felt tight. The mate bond was still burning inside me, I wanted to run after her car but Caroline’s cries pulled me back.“Leo! Help me!” Caroline screamed from the ground.People rushed over and the guards lifted her carefully and started rushing her to the pack clinic. I followed them to the clinic immediately. On my way, my mind kept replaying the kiss and the way Freya felt in my arms. The bond that exploded between us. It was too real.At the hospital, doctors rushed Caroline into the emergency ward. After some time, the doctor came out.“Alpha Cowell.”“How is she?” My voice was hoarse. “And the baby?”“The baby is stable,” he said. “For now.”Relief hit me so hard I had to brace against the wall.“But,” he continued, “Luna Caroline suffered a severe stress episode. Her blood pressure spiked. If this happens again, we could be looking at complications like preterm labor or worse.”“Worse?,” I repeated.“Miscarriag

Caroline’s POVI stood in front of the full-length mirror as two maids helped me get ready for my next interview. One of them smiled brightly. “You look beautiful, my Luna.”The word Luna sent a thrill through me. Finally I can now be addressed as Luna. This was finally my moment. I slowly touched the crown. “I’ve waited a long time for this.”The older maid lowered her head. “The entire pack is celebrating your coronation.”I smiled to myself as I sat down on the beautiful chair inside the Luna suite while makeup artists fixed my face and hair.Reporters and interviewers waited outside. Everyone wanted to talk to me now as the new Luna. The one carrying the High Alpha’s heir. I loved every second of it. The younger maid held up another dress. “The reporters are already waiting downstairs.” She said as she gently bowed down her head. “How many interviews today?”“Five confirmed Luna.”“And three more media houses have requested exclusive interviews.”I laughed softly. “Looks like

Freya’s POVI looked out the window of my room as another news notification lit up my phone.FORMER LUNA REFUSES TO LET GO.I didn’t even bother opening it. The headlines have become predictable these days. Every morning, there was a new version, then in the afternoon another opinion. strangers deciding they knew my life better than I did.A soft knock interrupted my thoughts.“My Lady?” I turned around. My lawyer stood at the door, carrying a stack of documents.“Come in.”She entered with a professional smile, but I could already tell from her expression that something had happened.“I’ve just returned from the Alpha’s legal office.”I gestured towards the chair opposite mine.“Sit.”She did.And for a few seconds, she simply organized the files in front of her. That alone made my stomach tighten.“Tell me, how did it go?.”She looked at me carefully. “The Alpha has officially requested additional time to fulfill the financial settlement.”I didn’t react immediately, I simply stared

Freya’s POV“I am going to see Leo today,” I told Lizzy.Lizzy looked up from the sofa.“About the settlement?” I nodded as I picked up my handbag. “I’m done hiding behind lawyers. If he wants more time, he can tell me himself.”“Are you sure about this?” she asked. “You don’t have to do this alone.”I nodded. My chest felt tight with anger and pain. “I have waited long enough. He keeps delaying the settlement. Now I need to face him myself.”Lizzy held my hand for a moment. “Be careful with your heart. He still has power over you through the mate bond.”“I know,” I whispered. “But I am tired, Lizzy. I am so tired of being the one who always waits and suffers.”“I understand you, just don’t let him change your mind”I gave a bitter smile “He won’t”. “You know he still loves you?.”I nodded once, “That still doesn’t change what he’s done.”Lizzy walked over and hugged me tightly. “I’m proud of you, go say what you need to say. I will be here when you come back.”I hugged her back. “

Leo’s POVThe twenty-four-hour deadline Freya gave me felt like a death sentence. I spent the entire night and morning doing everything possible to raise the money.“You’ve been awake all night, Alpha.”I didn’t look up from the financial report spread across my desk.“How much is remaining?”The finance director adjusted his glasses before answering. “We’re still short by twelve million.”I clenched my jaw. “Twelve million…”“Yes, Alpha.”Silence filled the office. This is 6:15 a.m and Freya’s deadline expires this afternoon.I had already emptied my personal accounts, sold some of my private vehicles and liquidated every investment I personally owned yet It still wasn’t enough.“What about the commercial properties?”The finance director hesitated.“Alpha…”“I asked a question.”“We can sell the east warehouse.”“And?” I asked, “The…the riverside shopping complex.” His voice crackedI looked at him. “How much?”He quickly did the calculation. “Eight million.”I slammed my fist agai
