Chapter 1

Amara“You are still here? Didn't I tell you to go to the market and buy vegetables?”I heard my stepmother Julie's voice. I turned to her — she looked so angry, like she wanted to kill me. I nodded meekly, trying to look innocent."Go right now!" she screamed at me.I went to the market. Why was my life like this? My eyes filled with tears. One day my mate would take me from here and end all my misery. I was 21 and still hadn't found my mate.Relax, Amara. We will find him, Zia said in my head.I nodded and returned home.I finished all my work and was finally ready to go to my room."Where are you going?"I turned. This time it was my stepsister Chloe. She looked like she had been hiding somewhere, ready to strike if necessary. A lunatic smile was plastered on her face, and one hand was holding a pile of dirty clothes."You lazy, did you forget my clothes? I told you to wash them!"I took a deep breath. I knew these two women could never let me rest. Just like Cinderella, I was st

Chapter 2

Amara My heart was bleeding.Alpha Magnus came inside, he indeed looked like a strong, proud, handsome alpha male, just like his physique and rank suggested. Blessed with blue eyes.Chloe hooked her arms in his, and my heart cried from inside more, to see my soulmate with another female.Zia howled in pain. I never felt this kind of pain in my whole life. My eyes filled with tears, I could not breathe, yet I kept staring at him through my hazy eyes.As if feeling my scent or my presence, Alpha Magnus's eyes flickered to me, then turned white, like his wolf taking him over but he pushed him back. His fist clenched too. He was having a hard time controlling himself."What happened?" Chloe asked him.He shifted his gaze toward Chloe. He knew I was his mate, but he didn't acknowledge me. Didn't claim me as his mate."Mom, Dad, this is Alpha Magnus, my fiancé and soon my mate."Hearing those words, I turned on my heels and walked out of that place. I could bear anything, but seeing my fa

Chapter 3

AmaraI was scared at the sudden movement, my eyes were closed, but a familiar scent hit me. Addictive forest air. Alpha Magnus. My eyes shot open. The sparks from his touch were so intense they made me want to pull him closer, to feel him everywhere. But what I saw when my gaze met his stopped me cold.Angry blue eyes. He stood proud and dominating, his height looming over me until I felt like a pup. His grip on my arms tightened, tight enough to hurt. The disgusted look carved into his face made my heart ache. Zia felt it too. She whimpered inside me."You know I am your mate, right omega?" he asked through a clenched jaw, like he was barely suppressing something violent.I nodded meekly. His grip tightened more. I hissed. "It's hurting me, let go," I said. His hold loosened slightly but he didn't release me."You will not tell anyone that you and I are fated mates. Not a single soul." It wasn't a request. It was a threat.Hearing those words from his mouth made the pain multiply.

Chapter 4

Amara Hearing that voice, I raised myself from my bed. My room was on the second floor, but at the far end, so were Chloe's room and the guest room where Magnus was staying. I opened my window and it felt like someone had jumped from a window and ran toward the north direction, where Alpha Xavier's house stood. I was sure I heard heavy paw sounds. Who could be that? From my window, the view stretched all the way to the forest.I walked toward the entrance door, wondering whether I should check who was outside. I opened it and stepped out of the house. I guess I was stupid enough to come outside at this hour.I looked around but couldn't see anyone. I sighed, as gentle breeze was blowing though, cool and pleasant, soothing my broken heart.I shivered as I felt someone staring at me. Then I heard a heavy, familiar thud and my eyes snapped toward the direction of the sound.Oh my goddess.A dark black wolf emerged from the bushes, bigger than any wolf I had ever seen, even bigger than

Chapter 5

AmaraI was about to fall when a strong arm grabbed my waist and steadied me. I shivered from that touch. Sparks crept across my entire body, and that familiar forest air scent filled my nostrils. My eyes collided with his dangerous blue ones. He steadied me and hissed angrily."Are you blind, omega?" He said in cold voice. "I am sorry, Alpha." I said softly and lowered my gaze. I couldn't bear the hatred in his eyes.He said nothing and walked away. I didn't know what to do with myself. His coldness affected me no matter how much I wanted to ignore it. Wouldn't it be better if he just rejected me? The thought alone made tears fill my eyes.I came inside and wiped them away. The rest of the day blurred the past. I stood beside the dining table where Julie and Dad were already seated, but Magnus and Chloe still hadn't arrived. Did they stop for…, Zia whimpered in my head as I thought about the possibility.Footsteps echoed down the hall. My eyes snapped toward the sound. Magnus and Chl

Chapter 6

AmaraMagnus stood there with very angry eyes, fighting against his wolf who threatened to come out of him. I shivered at the way he looked at me — anger, disgust, probably hatred.I didn't understand his expression but one thing I was sure, that they were not positive.I tried to pass him and went inside the house, but suddenly he grasped my arm.My eyes widened in fear.I looked at his face, waiting for what he wanted to say as his hold was giving me pain."What were you doing," he asked coldly.I blinked. What did I do?"I am sorry Alpha, but I didn't understand what you are saying. I was planting the flowers."He chuckled, but it was hollow — more like mocking. He released me with a jerk and went inside the house, and I still stood there like a fool. Why was he angry? What did I do to earn his hatred? I wished the earth would swallow me. I had nothing left in this world anymore.I came inside feeling so low, wanting to rest, but did I have that option? My whole day had just passed

Chapter 7

AmaraWe heard a loud and furious growl. My eyes snapped toward the sound and I was horrified, when I saw a very angry Magnus coming toward us with long, powerful strides, right to where me and Tom were sitting — no, laying down on the ground.I realized this position was not appropriate at all.Anyone who saw us like this would think something else entirely. Oh Goddess. He stood close to us within seconds. He grabbed Tom by the collar and threw him far away. I gasped and quickly raised back to my feet."Tom!" I shouted. But Magnus blocked my view before I could see where Tom landed. I tried to move past him to get to Tom but Magnus was already there first, trapping him again."What were you doing to her?" His voice was threatening, like he genuinely wanted to kill him."No…stop! Please, leave him!" I rushed over and tried to pull Magnus back. "We were sparring and we lost our balance, that's all!"His eyes were white. Oh Goddess. His wolf had surfaced wanting to come out.He was stil

Chapter 8

Amara Chloe stared at me blankly, damn. I smiled nervously. "What happened, Chloe?" I asked meekly. She shrugged like it was nothing. "Did you tell Mother that you're coming with me to the Red stone Pack?" "I didn't." I said She hissed. "God, you're useless, Amara. You know what, I wanted to move to Magnus Pack as soon as possible, and you are coming with me no matter what." After giving me her order she walked out. I pulled my hair in frustration. I would not go there. Not when my mate hated me, his cruel words still echoing in my ears. I had to ignore this Alpha, no matter what. The best thing was to reject him. He was not important to me anymore. Everything in me felt heavy. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. Work was better. Work helped me forget the pain. I made my way to the kitchen, but being the clumsy person I was, I collided with a wall.. umm well no it was a person. The moment my favourite scent filled my nostrils, I knew exactly who it w

Chapter 9

AmaraI fell on top of him — ohh no. I felt electricity shoot throughout my body and nerves. Alpha Magnus's hold was tighter on me, my face was close to him, well, too close. We could feel the warmth of each other's breath. He was drunk. I could smell the alcohol in his breath. I gulped."Alpha…" I said, breathing heavily. His proximity was bothering me and Zia was dancing in my head. He just stared at me with his unfocused eyes.I tried to get up from his lap, but he didn't let me. Then he did something I had never imagined — he buried his head in the crook of my neck and filled his nostrils with my scent. I panted. "Please… alp— alpha, let me go." My voice came out broken. I could feel so many sparks creeping on my body. But he didn't stop. His nose was softly creasing my neck, slow and deliberate, like he was memorizing something."Alpha, please let me go," I whispered again, trying to move away.He groaned and lifted his head off my neck. His eyes were soft, not like those eyes h

Chapter 10

Amara Magnus stopped just inches away from me. Zia was in a haze..umm. he was half naked in front of us, the heat radiating from his bare skin more intoxicating than the alcohol. His blue eyes were devoid of any expression. Icy, professional, and infuriatingly unreadable, of course. What was I supposed to do? I felt like a fool standing here, surrounded by powerful wolves — especially an alpha who hated me."Are you ready, Omega?" Magnus said coldly. He didn't look at Chloe. He kept his gaze locked on mine."Attack me, Omega Amara," he commanded. My heart skipped many beats. This was the first time he had said my name. I was so stupid..I could be happy just hearing my name from his lips. Wow, stupid me.A ripple of laughter went through the pack and I snapped out of my daydream."Amara, if you attack the Alpha, who knows this might be your last day," someone shouted from the back. I recognized the voice. One of Chloe's friends."So what? She's useless anyway," another one added.C
