Five's POV I could feel the King's furious gaze pressing down on me from the moment I walked into the council room. It burned through my skin in a way that would normally unsettle me but this time— It was almost as if I felt nothing. The unease was still there, but there was no overwhelming fear, no overwhelming feeling of being helpless. I glanced up, holding his gaze.
