Nathan returned from the convenience store shortly after, holding bags of items which Valentino rushed to ease him of. "Thank you," he said, heart fluttering as the man collected the bags from him and effortlessly carried them in one hand. "Where should I put them?" Nathan sighed once he was out of the hall, clutching the strap of his backpack tightly. He'd never expected that level of difficulty.If it hadn't been for the all-nighters he pulled two days before, he would not have been able to answer the horrendous questions. The lecturers sure weren't playing this semester. He padded along the walkway, squinting slightly as he headed towards his regular coffee shop. The living room was silent, save for the scribbling of pen on paper and the occasional flipping of pages. Nathan sat at the center table, eyes fixed intently on the pad of paper before him as he wrote. His hand squeezed Valentino's subconsciously and the man squeezed back, earning his attention. He sliced his gaze to the side, smiling softly as it swept across his closed eyes and parted lips beneath the soft light of the lamp. He stared at him for a moment too long, before reluctantly tearing his eyes back to the books lying on the table. A sigh slipped through his lips and he reached for the eye drop on the side of the table, staring at the bottle for a brief moment, before he released Valentino's hand. Nathan had been avoiding him. The chair dipped slightly as Valentino lowered himself onto it. He glanced over at the clock, then back to his desk.
