“Come with me; with that big belly of yours, you can't even bend down anymore.”“Ah, Rafa, thank you!”I was walking with Rafaela toward downtown.“Look, Aurora, if I were you, I'd get a medical note. You're six months pregnant, but it looks like you're about to give birth.”“Well, it's because of these two little boys in here.”I found out I'm expecting two baby boys.“You should have already chosen their names, Aurora.”“I know, but I'll wait a little longer.”“Listen, Tácio has already hired someone for cleaning; you'll only be responsible for the pantry.”“He and his kindness… look, Rafa, I think it's past time for you to talk about your feelings to him.” I insisted.“How am I supposed to talk now? Especially with him liking you.”“Rafaela!” I scolded her. “I've already told you that between the two of us, there is absolutely no possibility of anything happening, even if you didn't like him. I already have someone in my heart, and it's for him that I will fight.”“Fight how? You h

“A little while ago, an accident happened on the road that connects to one of the most important farms in the country. The news so far is that there was one fatal victim, who has already been identified. Liana Passos, 26 years old, was driving a Ferrari at high speed when she lost control of the vehicle, which ended up falling off the bridge. Liana's body was burned, and she died instantly. A car passing by recorded everything. In the footage, the Ferrari can be seen speeding. Liana was single, but she leaves behind a child under one year old. More news coming soon.”On the television in the reception area of the clinic lobby, the latest updates about the tragic accident that had just happened were playing.“Good morning, Rafa!” I said, walking into the lobby. I had just finished an ultrasound, which made me arrive late.“Good morning, Aurora.”“Why is the TV volume so loud?”“Oh, it's because I was listening to some news.”“What happened that was so important to catch your attention?

I grabbed the phone from Denise's hand immediately and tried to turn it on, but it seemed to be out of battery.“Bring me a charger now!” I shouted.I was on edge. What had Liana done to Aurora? Denise brought a charger, so I plugged the phone in, but it took forever to turn on.“Damn it!” My stress was already back.“Calm down, Oliver,” Saulo said.“How can I be calm, Saulo? Her phone was with Liana—what did she do to Aurora?” I asked, my voice tight with worry.“Let's ask Bia.”“She's unconscious, remember?”“Damn, that's right! Then let's go to the police and report Aurora missing.” Saulo tried to find a way out.A sharp pain started pounding inside my head. When I finally checked the phone, I realized that the last messages I had exchanged with Aurora had actually been answered by Liana.“What if Liana killed Aurora?”Denise said it, and a violent stab shot through my head. The room began to spin, and I felt my body collapse to the floor.[...]“Oliver, Oliver!”I could hear Saulo

I don't know what's been happening to me lately—whether this wave of bad luck and sudden fortune is some kind of divine sign, but…Every time I think my life is about to fall into place, something happens. I can't handle so much at once. After returning to the farm and packing our bags, we took a flight to the south of the country, chasing this specialist. Saulo and Denise came along. Denise as the nanny, and Saulo as my friend. Even after I gave Denise time off, they insisted on postponing it until the situation with Noah was resolved.Gratitude wasn't enough to describe what I felt for him. My best friend, my brother by heart—there weren't words for it. He had been with me on the farm for almost a year now, without a single day of rest. For a while, he's been wanting to take Denise to meet his family, but he keeps postponing it because of me. I would be forever grateful for everything he has done.Sitting in the airplane seat with my son in my arms, I felt like life was pulling me f

For a while now, I had been feeling a dull ache at the tip of my belly, but I didn't want to tell anyone. I felt swollen, like I could burst at any moment. I had reached my seventh month of pregnancy, and all I could do was beg these babies to stay inside me a little longer, so they could be born healthy—without needing any intervention.Today, I started work earlier. My shift officially began at seven-thirty, but I arrived at seven, tidied up the kitchen, and sat down. The ache came and went, and I prayed it wasn't a contraction. I wasn't ready yet. Honestly, I didn't even know if I ever would be. The thought of giving birth terrified me, and the idea that I would face it all alone filled me with frustration.I had already decided that after the boys were born, I would call Denise—even if I died of embarrassment. I would ask her to speak to Oliver without Liana hearing, tell him I needed to see him in person. He would come… and I would introduce him to the children. I knew it would b
