Amee WilsonThe first thing I noticed when Olivia and I got inside the suite was a very busy, very harassed Josh Morgan Sterling while he tried to kowtow to the whims and demands of his three children. He was less immaculate now than when I first met him at Sterling Enterprises, but he looked happy.Gone was the frown that seemed to have been formally creased on his forehead. And there was a ready smile on his face while he interacted with Leo, Ivy, and Zoe.I cannot even fathom how he could be grinning when Zoe had her meltdown because her father can’t perfect her braid the way Olivia does.As I expected, Olivia took in the scene and pulled the whistle from her jacket pocket that she brings all the time to rein the children in when they become unruly.“Prrrtttt!” The whistle interrupted the father and his brood. At the sound, the children automatically became alert.“Mommy!” The triplets chorused.Their backs went ramrod straight at the sight of their mother.“What’s going on? Leo, I

Olivia Barnett POV“I will,” Josh promised.Grandpa looked at him contemptuously.“From now on, Olivia and the children are going to stay with me. If you want to see them. You may, but under my supervision.”Josh looked at Grandfather Jonathan like he had grown another head. The frown creasing his forehead showed he was not in agreement with the rules Grandpa had laid out.“You can’t do this, Grandpa. They are my family. They should stay with me.”But Grandpa, it seemed, had already made up his mind. No amount of insistence on Josh’s side can dissuade Grandpa from his earlier pronouncements.“Let’s not argue, Josh. I only wanted to protect your family.” The finality in Grandpa’s tone sent Josh off.“From me?” Josh could not believe his ears.“I am Olivia’s wife. I am the triplets’ father. I should have a say on their living arrangements.”But his argument only fell on deaf ears. As in the past, when they were at odds, there is no middle ground between Grandpa and Josh. Each is insisti

Amee Wilson POVI checked my appearance in the full-length mirror situated on the wall next to the door of the women’s restroom on the ground floor of Sterling Enterprises. When I arrived ten minutes ago, I went straight to the receptionist to confirm my appointment, and was informed that my contact person, Mr. Lucas Morris, was still in a meeting. I was instructed to wait in the visitor’s lounge.Another person was occupying one of the chairs in the lounge. She looked like someone who got out of a magazine. Long hair, alluring face, and her dress was not corporate attire. I assumed the visit was personal. Not very fond of small talk and chit-chat, I asked the receptionist if she could tell me the directions to the restrooms. My stomach is acting up, forcing me to walk faster before I can't hold it much longer.I ran for the cubicle and vomited. After making sure my stomach was empty, I gurgled and arranged my chair, which had slipped loose from its tie. Then, I made sure that my dres

Amee WilsonFor the first time since I had worked for him, Zeke Alexander showed signs of stress.Sweat beaded on his forehead, and I must admit, for a man who looked quite sure of what he wanted yesterday and this morning, he does not look so sure anymore. And was that guilt I saw just now?"I am in a hurry. Can you not block my door?" I made the request calmly and saw him frowning."Where are you going?" He asked in a voice that trembled a little.I looked at him suspiciously. There was nothing much that could push the great Mr. Alexander to trembling. What gives? Then, I realized it was

Josh Morgan Sterling POVWhen the doctor gave him clearance and he was discharged from the hospital, Grandpa insisted that all of Olivia's and the children’s luggage be loaded into his van.I thought what he told us back at the hospital suite was a momentary thing. A fluke. But it seemed that he was determined to push through with his plan of separating me from my family.I tried to step in.I called the staff to give them my orders. That my family’s things were transferred to my car.“Grandpa, my family stays with me.”Grandpa arched his brow. With a nurse’s help, he stood from his wheelchair and stepped toward the waiting van. But he stopped and directed his gaze at me.“Have you cleaned up your house?”I was sure we were not talking about a literal house. He was talking about my problems with Daisy Cobbs, and I assured him I had already fixed the matter.“Yes,” I told him.Right now, Lucas has been busy forcing Daisy out of Sterling Enterprises and my life. He already called severa
