Jane’s POVThe house was loud again. At this point, it was safe to say the occupants of this house made noise for a living. The sound of voices echoing through the hallway stirred me awake. It was as if the morning air was bringing restless murmurs to me in my dreams. At first I thought it was just the servants beginning their usual chores. But as I paid more attention, I figured it was different.Pushing myself out of bed, I opened the door carefully. A maid rushed past without even noticing me.“What’s going on?” I asked.“I don’t know,” she answered but didn't stop.
