All Chapters of Secrets Behind Closed Doors: Chapter 61 - Chapter 70

I never thought my life would come down to this…a cold, dimly lit study in some fancy mansion, my hands shaking as I faced the man who held my father’s life in his grip. My name is Sophia, and at twenty-one, I was still a virgin, barely out of college, working two dead-end jobs just to help pay the bills. But that night, everything changed. My dad had fucked up, big time. Gambling debt. Half a million dollars to the Rossi family. The kind of money that gets you killed if you don’t pay up.I stood there in the middle of the room, my cheap sneakers squeaking on the polished hardwood floor. The air smelled like leather and cigar smoke, heavy and intimidating. Luca Rossi sat behind a massive oak desk, his dark eyes locked on me like I was some expensive piece of art he was deciding whether to buy. He was thirty-six, broad-shouldered, with a sharp jawline and black hair that fell just right over his forehead. Ruthless didn’t even begin to cover it. Everyone in our neighborhood whispered a

The next few days blurred together. But tonight was different. He was taking me to a charity gala. “You’ll be on my arm,” he’d said that morning, his voice leaving no room for argument. One of his assistants brought the dress…an emerald green gown that hugged every curve like it was made for me. The neckline dipped low between my breasts, and the slit up the side showed off my leg with every step. I stared at myself in the mirror. I looked… expensive. Luca’s eyes darkened when he saw me. He offered his arm, and we left in a black sedan car.The gala was in a massive ballroom downtown, chandeliers sparkling overhead, tables full of rich people in tuxedos and designer dresses. Luca led me to the head table like he owned the place. Which, in this city, he basically did. Powerful men nodded at him…politicians, businessmen, a couple I recognized from the news. I sat stiffly beside him, smiling politely when he introduced me as his date.Dinner was served, conversations flowing around us

The music was so loud that I felt it vibrate right in the middle of my chest... The club was crowded with sweaty bodies and people grinding on each other... Blue and red lights cut across faces and made everyone look half drunk. I stood near the edge of the dance floor with Sophie and Jake. My plastic cup felt cold against my palm. Leo was only a couple steps away, talking to Tyler, laughing about something he said.. His black shirt clung to his shoulders. A thin line of sweat sat at the base of his throat. I looked away before he could catch me staring.Sophie shoved a shot into my hand. “Drink, Maya. You’re standing there like a statue.”I tipped it back and swallowed. The burn slid down my throat. Jake handed me another without asking. I gulped it down on one go. The lights kept changing red, blue... Bodies moved around us. I felt Someone’s shoulder bump into mine and I swayed before gaining back my stance. My eyes moved around the club landing on Leo the same time he turned. He

I couldn’t sleep. The house was quiet after our dinner. No TV. No footsteps in the hall. Just the soft tick of the clock on my nightstand and the occasional creak of old wood settling. I stared at the ceiling until the dark shapes of the room blurred. My body still tingling from this morning…his thumb on my jaw, the near-kiss, and the way his chest had brushed my back when he reached for the plates. Every time I closed my eyes I felt it again.I flipped onto my side. Then my stomach. Then my back. The sheets twisted around my legs. I kicked them off climbed out of my bed and opened the windows the air felt cool on my skin, but it didn’t help. My pulse kept jumping for no reason.A car door slammed close outside.Voices drifted up from the driveway…low laughter, then a girl’s, bright and bubbly voice followed. The the front door opened… Keys hit the bowl on the entry table. Soft footsteps moved through the living room followed by a giggle heading up the stairs.Leo’s voice muttered.

I didn’t answer with words.I reached out instead. My fingers closed around the base of him, warm and thick, already slick at the tip. His breath came out of him in a short breath. The muscle in his jaw jumped. I stroked once, feeling the weight of him in my palm and the way he twitched against my skin.“That’s not enough,” he said, voice low and rough.I looked up. “Then take what you want.”Something snapped behind his eyes. One hand hooked under my arm and hauled me up the bed. My back hit the mattress hard enough to bounce. The sheets were still warm from him. He came down over me using his knees to force my thighs apart, one hand planting beside my head. The other shoved my sleep shorts and underwear down in one rough pull. Cool air touched the wet heat between my legs. I kicked the fabric the rest of the way off. My t-shirt rode up under his hands. He didn’t bother taking it off. He just pushed it higher until it bunched under my chin, baring my breasts to him.His mouth lande
