Semua Bab The Alpha Who Couldn't Forget: Bab 71 - Bab 80

Ambrose “My king. I think that’s something you should worry about and when we’re back to the pack.” Thor cut in. “You sustained a terrible injury and you know the war healers aren’t as skilled as the ones back in the pack, let’s worry about this after you’ve been properly treated.” He exhaled. I nodded, too tired to say anything more. I climbed into the carriage and Thor climbed in beside me; the sun was almost gone but we’d just began our long journey back home after one of the bloodiest fights we’ve had in years.“Was Duncan found?” I asked, turning to Thor as I broke the silence. I remembered him stepping away from the battle for a few minutes in search of Duncan could be hiding whilst commanding an entire army of rogues.I understood they had a leader on the battlefield but Duncan had to be somewhere near. Thor shook his head in disappointment. “I couldn’t find him.” He frowned, his eyes burning with rage. “But I overheard one of the new moonstone alpha’s soldiers say he was sp

Amanda“You’re dismissed.” Ambrose said hesitantly and I watched the look of fear on their faces quickly shift into one of relief. Myra eyes watered as her face dropped into her palms. “Thank you so much your majesty, thank you so much my Luna .” She cried. Claret was beside herself with fear and couldn’t say a word. The guards on the other hand looked calm outwardly but deep in their eyes I could see the relief in them.“Thank you, your majesty.” They chorused as they pushed themselves up from the ground. Ambrose nodded, his jaw still tight and seething from anger. “If this happens again, I won’t be so lenient. I am sure you know that.” He warned. They all bowed and walked out after that. I watched them leave before returning my gaze back to Ambrose, only to find him looking at me with a mix of both worry and anger in his eyes. “How could you do such a thing to me?” He asked, his voice filled with exhaustion.I took a deep breath as my lips parted hoping to find an explanation b

Ambrose “Sometimes, a king gets tired of his duties and would like to take a day or two off.” I exhaled, trying to look and sound better than I was feeling. The series of events of the past few weeks have for sure taken a toll on me both mentally and physically even though I hate to admit it. She pouted, her head tilting to the side. “Since when do you take day offs? Are you sure that’s what this is?” She asked, her tone filled with skepticism. I nodded, tucking behind her ears a strand of loose hair hanging just below her eyes which I spotted while she was talking. “I’m fine, just not in the mood to have meetings, listen to complaints or do anything that isn’t for myself….” I trailed off remembering a task I had forgotten. My shoulders dropped and her brows raised in curiosity. “I won’t be here all day after all, I have to go to the infirmary and check the injured soldiers and their rate of recovery.” I explained. “This is to confirm if we need to dispatch new recruits.” She n

AmandaI walked up to my door and clicked the locks, my left hand still holding onto my bump as though letting go would give opportunity for this enemy to poison my child. Ambrose assured me that he’ll keep me safe, I believe him. I know he would rather burn the entire pack down than sit back and allow something – or someone– to cause harm to me or his child. But something in me remained restless. I couldn’t shake off the heaviness in my heart each time I thought of the possibility that this traitor could literally be anyone. A knock on my door interrupted me and I jerked, nearly jumping out of my skin. I inhaled, exhaled slowly and waddled to the door. “I brought tea, my lady. Claret’s orders..” Nyra said, smiling at me as I held the door open. I stared down at the tray and my lips parted for a moment. I wanted to send her away with it and tell her not to bring any meals to me until this investigation was over, but I couldn’t risk having the traitor realize I might be onto them.

AmbroseHours passed. I sat there in silence while my brain was spinning on it’s axis. Even though Thor wanted to pretend that we had a lead on the investigation, I could tell that we had nothing but a blank wall staring right back at us. I have so many soldiers that I don’t even know half of them by name or even by face. Grace couldn’t remember who gave her the note so how then was I supposed to find this person? If by the end of the day I have no clue then I guess I’ll have no other choice but to have Grace arrested as a suspect, until she can at least provide some sort of description of this person. The sun started to set and Thor finally walked on through the doors. I’d never been this happy to see Thor and I silently hoped he had some good news.“Your majesty.” He called out as he walked closer to the throne. “What do you have.” I asked, my senses on high alert.“I’m afraid we will have to bring Grace in for questioning.” He said firmly. I nodded, letting out a deep sigh of
