I entered the kitchen and immediately groaned when I saw Harry leaning against the counter, looking all innocent until he broke into a smile and started to wag his eyebrows.“Don’t!” I warned. “Don’t even start! I’m still going to get you, just so you know.”“I didn’t even say anything!” he whined, raising his hands.“That’s what you should have done out there. Still can’t believe Dad made you move over here with us.”“Because I’m family? Besides, you were the one who wanted to stay back in Sunder, not me. But aren’t you glad you’re here now? Look at you, the star of the hockey team knows your name!”“Yeah, I’m sure that’s newsworthy information. Hang on, let me call the news for this,” I rolled my eyes. “Seriously, I can’t believe you fucking outed me!”“Theo doesn’t seem to mind.”“Because I’m a nobody, that’s why. I’m not a threat, nor am I popular kid material.”“That’s because you try so hard not to be.”I glared at him. “Okay, am I dreaming, or are you actually talking to me lik

12 Right and Wrong

I knew I was nervous since Theo was coming for dinner, but the moment Dad opened the door to admit Theo and his Mom into the living room, I wished the ground would open up and swallow me whole. And wow, Theo cleaned up nicely.Gone was the basketball outfit. He wore a pair of jeans with a dark red shirt that turned his eyes a darker shade. He looked over at me, and I had to cross my arms in front of my chest to pretend that I was unaffected by his looks. His mom was a beautiful woman with hair like his. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail. She wore a lovely sundress that matched her son’s shirt, but she wore a coat over it to ward off the cold.“Hi, good evening,” she greeted, her smile as bright as her eyes. “Thank you for having us for dinner tonight. Here, I brought dessert.”She handed Dad a platter of pie. It smelled delicious.“Thank you.”Dad collected it. He also collected her coat and hung it.“This is my son, Theodore.”Theo stepped forward to shake Dad’s hand. “Good ev

13 Wrong!

“Do you think a piece of chocolate cake is enough to make him forgive you?” Harry asked as we walked into school.“Well, I had to try something. Besides, it’s not like I did anything bad anyway.”“Yup, nothing says I’m sorry like a smug ‘I didn’t even do anything bad anyway.’ That’s sure to get Theo Everson kissing your feet.”I elbowed him away as we climbed up the steps with the other students. “Okay, first of all, fuck off. Secondly, stop talking to me dressed like Thomas Shelby. Thirdly, can you try to stay out of my business?”Harry raised his hands. “Hey, I’m not particularly thrilled to be walking beside a ray of sunshine either, but if you need some romantic advice, you know where to find me,” he said, making a silly face as he walked off.I rolled my eyes at him. Romance? Right. And also, eww.I stared down at the package in my hand that I had planned to give to Theo today to apologise for yesterday.Really, I have nothing to apologise for. I am the offended party, but I didn

14 Tutor Theo?!

Lea's eyes widened as it swung back to my direction."What is going on?" She drawled."I - I am just as surprised as you are," I confessed, raising my hands in the air to prove my sincerity. She raised her brow. She wasn't the only one who looked in interested now. Half the class was looking in my direction, before long they were whispering. I groaned inwardly knowing that at this moment Kendall was probably shooting me poisoned glances.I didn't have to look to confirm my suspicion, I could already smell the putrid poison in her gaze."Jade Adams?" the voice called out again.I pushed my chair back and rose. Before I could leave Lea grabbed my hand and leaned in to whisper fiercely, with interest sparking in her eyes."You are going to tell me _everything_!"I didn't have the heart to tell her how disappointed she would be when she found out that there was nothing to tell.I made sure to avoid Kendall's table as I made my way out to the hall. The administrative block was just on the

15 I'm not playing these games

I looked around frantically. We were the only ones in the hallway and classes were in session but I couldn't risk anyone walking out and seeing us.Bad enough if it was a student, God only knows what sort of stories they'd cook up to Kendall just to lick her ass and be on her good side. It would be even worse if it was a teacher.Teachers aren't exactly known for their ability to read a situation. One look at Theo holding my hand and they'd assume the worst.I jerked my hand free - or tried to and ended up hurting myself because of his strong grip."What now? Let me fucking go!""That's a dirty mouth you have on you, Adams. And here I thought you were such a good girl.""I'm not playing your stupid games, Everson.""What game?" He asked.I rolled my eyes. "Is it so hard for you to believe that there is one girl who isn't falling all over herself for you?""No, it's just hard for me to understand why you can't treat me like a decent human being.""You tried to kiss me on my first day!"

16 Spilling Half Truths

I didn't even go far before running into Lea who clearly did not want to be seen but she didn't hide quick enough.Or more accurately, there was nowhere to hide."Oh shit!" She squealed as she tried to turn back around."Lea what the hell?"She slammed her hand into my mouth, her eyes darting around the hallway behind me frantically as she dragged me away."What the hell?" I tried to say but my words were muffled in the palm of her hands. It wasn't until we got back to the main area that she let me go, dropping her hand from my mouth."You followed me?" were my first words to her, spoken in anger and disbelief."I had to! I knew you wouldn't tell me anything so I had to." She grabbed my hand. "Come on it's too dangerous to talk here, let's go get lunch."Before I could protest she pulled me in the direction of the lunchroom, into the crowded room and toward our table.I groaned and rolled my eyes to the sky when I saw that our table was not unoccupied.Harry had made himself at home w

17 Don't Take My Sweater!

Along with my uniforms, I had also gotten the standard Phys. Ed uniforms, a pair of shorts and a cotton shirt that was a size too large. It was perfect though.I'm not the most confident person about my body.Don't get me wrong, I don't hate my body, I just feel uncomfortable with clothes that cling too tightly, that's why I wear the school sweater. I would have worn the blazer too but; 1. I don't want to look like I just stepped out of the set of The Peaky Blinders ( that's Harry's favorite show if you can't already tell) and 2. The blazer would only emphasize just how big my boobs are and that's the last thing I want.I grew my breasts early. Imagine how awkward it was for the already awkward kid to try and hide her budding breasts.Dad wasn't ready for puberty, neither was I.All the girls in my class were still wearing bralettes when I was already considering upping my size C bra.Trust me it was an awkward time for and Dad.Everything I learned about periods were from YouTube bec

I knew I should have gotten new bras before moving, now my boobs won't stay still. I jogged slowly still I was painfully aware of just how much bouncing my boobs did.Crossing my hands tight across my chest, I managed to pick up a pace that wasn't too slow and wasn't too fast either."I'm pretty sure you'd feel more comfortable if you just dropped your hands," Lea panted beside me.I cast her a peeved side glance. "And give the whole class a show. No thanks.""Could have been an easy pass to the top of the food chain. How do you think Kendall got there?"When I glared, she shrugged. "Just saying."I ignored her and held tightly but that only succeeded in slowing us down. Lea jogged by my side and May on my other side. I would have preferred if they ran ahead of me but they seemed to think that I needed company so they matched my pace.Or maybe that's just something friends do? I wouldn't know, I've never had a friend before.Soon we were falling behind."You guys can go ahead, don't wo

19 I'm Not Weak

"Can you listen to yourself right now? You sound ridiculous!""Do I?" Kendall demanded in a raised voice. "Or am I doing exactly what every sane girl would do when her boyfriend suddenly starts acting suspicious around the new girl?""Kendall..."Kendall moved closer but made no attempt to lower her voice. "I know you Theo. Just like I know every single one of you," she turned to the rest of the class, specifically the girls as she pointed her pink tipped nail at them. "You rats can never be me no matter how hard you try. You can never have Theo.""I'm not sure we are the ones you should worry about," Lea said, pretending to scratch her chin as she looked away.Kendall's cold blue eyes landed on her. "What did you just say weirdo?"Lea turned to face her squarely without a hint of fear in her eyes. "I said...""She said nothing!" Theo said quickly. He threw me a cutting glance as he grabbed Kendall's arm again and tried to pull her away. "It's not worth it...""I want to hear what the

20 Helpless Flirt

“Do you want something from the kitchen?” Harry yelled from downstairs.I was climbing up the staircase, heading to my room. “No!”I needed to make a list of things that I needed to get. I decided to go with Lea after all. Why not?She wouldn’t get off my tits anyway so why not just let her drag me to the mall? We might actually have fun.I actually don’t know if I’m just trying to convince myself if I’m just still impressed by her standing up for me.I entered my room. Since my room was above the kitchen, I heard Harry moving about, slamming cupboards and the fridge door. Why the idiot had to go about banging everything was beyond me but I was grateful when he finally closed the kitchen door.I plopped on my bed with my hands above my head, grateful for the time alone. School had been one hell of a rollercoaster today but at least now I can reset before tomorrow.I rolled over on my bed and was about to grab my phone and my headset off the nightstand when the doorbell went off.I pa
