WYNE'S POV After she left, I sat in my car and the driver started the car.. I shouldn't worry about her... After office hour, she aint my business.. She can go anywhere and with anyone.. But still my heart was feeling uneasy.. " Turn the car around and follow that car... " The driver was confused but I glared at him, making him turn the car around immediately... It took him sometime to get to where the car was.. It was parked outside the bar... I frowned and got out of the car.. I was about to step forward but stopped... What if she is just here for some drinks? I shouldn't disturb her at this hour... I turned around to get back in the car.. I opened the car door but the closed it again... What if she gets drunk and some bastards get their hands on her? She is so new to the city... What if she looses her way back home? But then again... Should I just interfere like that? Will that be appropiate? I shook my head and opened the door again but stopped getting in when I heard a s

MADELYN'S POV The moment the door slammed shut, I dropped my forehead against it. Thud. A long breath escaped my lips. "Holy shit..." My heart was pounding so hard that it felt painful. For a few seconds, I simply stood there, trying to process everything that had happened. Then my eyes slowly drifted toward the hallway. Toward that door. The locked door. My stomach twisted. If I had woken up even a minute later... If Wyne had somehow managed to get curious enough... If he had stayed there any longer... No. I immediately shook my head. No point thinking about it. Nothing happened. Everything was fine. Everything was still hidden just the way it needed to be. I pushed myself away from the door and stumbled toward my bedroom. The room spun slightly. I drank way too much alcohol. I groaned. "My head..." I collapsed face-first onto the mattress. The blanket tangled around my legs. My shoes were gone. For a moment, my drunk brain tried to figure out where they had disappe

MADELYN'S POV My face burned red as I stood under the shower... No amount of water is reducing the heat inside my body... The way his body was pressed against mine... His face was so close that a little move could start something none of would want..Or would want... I don't know... What embarrasing more was how I reacted... I should have pushed him away... I should have said something to anger him , I should have insulted him with something harsh but in that moment I stood there being dumb... A total dumb... I didn't move a muscle.. I didn't even push him away... And I was waiting?Waiting for that gap to close.. Hoping he would come near more and...." Argh!!!! "I yelled in frustration when I remembered his face... For a moment he was in a trance too... But he snapped back before me and that smug look? I want to punch it off his face!!! It's not like I have never been with other guys.. Not like guys never flirted with me but with him? It felt so... So different! I shook my head

MADELYN'S POVMADELYN'S POVThe ride to Erlington Group was unusually quiet.Matilda occupied the front passenger seat, occasionally checking the meeting schedule on her tablet while speaking softly with the driver. Meanwhile... I was stuck beside Wyne. The spacious luxury sedan suddenly didn't feel spacious at all. From the corner of my eye, I caught the faint curve of his lips. That irritating little smirk. My cheeks immediately warmed.Don't think about yesterday.Unfortunately... The more I told myself not to think about it, the more vividly it replayed in my head. His hand against the glass. The little distance between us. The way neither of us had moved.I silently cursed my own brain. At least he had the decency not to mention it. Though judging from that smug expression... I knew he was enjoying my embarrassment.Infuriating man.The rest of the journey passed in silence. Eventually, the car slowed before the towering headquarters of Erlington Group. The sleek glass skyscraper

MADELYN'S POVMy whole body ached as I collapsed onto my bed after another exhausting day at work. The mattress dipped beneath my weight, and I let out a long, tired sigh while staring blankly at the ceiling. This week had passed much faster than the last. Partly because work had been relentless. Partly because... Wyne Moretti had actually behaved himself. To my surprise, he hadn't found new ways to annoy me every single day. No shameless teasing. No ridiculous comments. No invading my personal space.Nothing. We'd simply gone to work, attended meetings, exchanged a few necessary words, and returned home. Professional and Normal.Exactly what I'd wanted. So why... Why did the apartment suddenly feel so... quiet? I frowned at my own thoughts.Ridiculous. I was simply tired. That was all. Rolling onto my side, I reached for my phone on the bedside table.11:42 PM.Far too late to think about anything work-related. Just as I was about to put the phone away, the screen lit up with a notif
