All Chapters of Hate to love you: The star's forbidden obsession: Chapter 31 - Chapter 40

ZAYDENIt's been three days since the little disaster. I've forced myself to keep coming to school. Not coming would be equivalent to admitting I was the person they were talking about. Even though each scrutinizing gaze from people were hotter than the hottest coal, I had to keep my head up, face straight, and keep pushing forth. Since Liora overheard my conversation with Ronan that day, she began to act even crazier. She intensified her efforts to get Ronan, which only led to more disgust and humiliation. It was as if overhearing the conversation increased the desperation in her heart. It was indeed as Ronan said. She wasn't chasing him out of love or devotion, she had her own little motive. What could be so important that she would continue throwing herself at Ronan despite being shamed a great number of times? I didn't have the strength to worry about someone else, my own troubles were drowning me. What's more? Since then, the way Liora treated me got worse. Previously, she

I watched her stalk down the corridor towards the music club room. “Liora, wait.”She didn't. She continued on her way, as if she didn't hear me. I sighed and increased my pace too. The moment the entered the music room, I jammed my shoe against the door, stopping her from slamming it shut. She pushed hard, her teeth clamped against her lip. “Wait, let's talk.” I whispered and carefully pushed her aside. I entered and locked the door behind me. “Liora, what's going on with you? You've changed?”She scoffed and rolled her eyes. There was none of the sweet gentleness I once admired about her in her expression. “Changed? Do you know me? Who do you think you are to talk to me?” Her tone was scathing, filled with disdain. I exhaled. “Liora, even if you're upset with me, you shouldn't humiliate yourself. Everyone knows Ronan’s reputation. Once he sleeps twice with you, it's over, and you will become the next biggest joke. This is not who you are. What's come over you? People…”Pah! T

ZAYDENI returned to the class to see Jace and Gavin waiting by my designated desk. Jace rushed to me. “Are you alright, man?”He grabbed my hand and inspected the damage, his face darkening by the second. “That bitch! How dare she?” Gavin spat, and huffed out a breath, throat bobbing with restrained fury. A soft smile crossed my face, heart warming. “It doesn't hurt. Not as bad as it looks. It's just the bandage bloating and making it look like a big deal.”Jace looked at me, his eyes complicated. He opened his mouth to say something, but hesitated, and closed his mouth. It must be related to Liora. If not, he wouldn't be so torn. “Aren't we closer than that?” I suddenly asked him. “Mmm…” He appeared confused, not understanding what I was talking about. “Why are you hesitating?” I motioned to his finger which was rubbing against his thumb as it often does when he's agitated. “Is there anything that can't be said between us?”Jace hissed, his restraint snapping. “I'm going to fu

ZAYDENI opened my mouth to speak. But no words came out. Zoe was being truthful about her father wanting me as a son in law. I once met Stanton senior, her father, two years ago during matriculation, he'd been especially happy and made some suggestive comments about us getting together. But not once have I had such thoughts towards her. Anyone could see she liked me. That was the only reason the legendary UCLA ice princess was so soft and approachable when it came to me. She was ruthless to others but treated my friends with respect. Even a blind man couple see the reason. If I choose to go with her, all my problems will be solved. With the Stanton family's powers, hiding anyone they pleased was just a matter of flicking the fingers. Kael's future will be secured. With one leap, I will reach a level where Slade wouldn't have the courage to try any nonsense. It will also grant me the platform to easily achieve my own goals and projects. However, the reputation of a man who climbe

ZAYDENI shoved open the door, and rushed in. Kael had two hands braced against the wall, lips pressed together, streaks of blood visible from his white singlet. Behind him, Slade stood, raining down blows from his belt. Mrs. Baker stands to the side, crying and begging him to stop. My heart dropped to the pits of my belly. “You're going to kill him, please stop.” Mrs Baker tried to hold his hand and he flung her away, like an old rag. My eyes went wide in horror as I watched her hit the sofa. “What's going on here?” I roared, tearing towards them. Slade turned to me, eyes blazing, nose flaring. “Ask that useless good for nothing brother of yours!”I looked between them. Kael stayed silent, eyes defiant, silently waiting for more beatings to fall. Slade picks up a wooden rod. My eyes widened. I quickly planted myself between them, before I could think better of it. “Let's talk this out. Whatever it is, there will surely be a solution.”Slade scoffed, eyes red with rage. “A solu
