Semua Bab My Stepsister's Betrayal: Bab 61 - Bab 70

WillWhen Roman and Austin arrived, I was surprised that Samara and Elizabeth weren’t with them.“Sloane called Samara. She and Scarlet are pregnant again, but Sloane refuses to miss this battle.”I raise my eyebrows at that, not just because I’m surprised Benedict isn’t fighting harder to keep her away from the battle, but also because Sloane is willing to put her pup at risk.“She’s feeling guilty about letting Ellis go when he was in Felix’s pack,” he explains.“Ahh, I see, but what does that have to do with Samara?”“Samara agreed to have Ayla beside Sloane during the entire battle. Benedict felt better knowing that only a very foolish wolf would go against two white wolves at once,” he says.“Unfortunately, I think there are some very foolish wolves in that pack. Between the two of them, even if Sloane can’t shift, I’m sure they’ll have no problem taking any foolish wolves out,” I say.“That’s if they can even get to them. It sounds like we’re going to have them outnumbered four o

StephanieWhen we raced onto my family’s pack lands, I could tell instantly that some of the warriors were renouncing Ellis and Elena. They shifted and stood, not fighting and not looking like they intended to fight us.The group we are with begins to walk more slowly toward the others. When they pull something out of their mouths and hold it out, I walk forward.“What is that?” I ask.“A.S. for our true Alpha,” one of the warriors says to me.“Thank you,” I say.“You need to know that Alpha Ellis commanded us to fight, Luna. We only told people we were absolutely sure were true to you, but some others who are fighting may not want to fight against you,” another warrior says.I look at Will and watch as his eyes go unfocused. Then he turns to me.“Can you try to command them to stop? You are more their Alpha than Ellis is.”I look at some of the wolves who are still fighting against our warriors, even though it’s obviously a lost cause.“STAND DOWN!”I push my Alpha aura out over my pr

WillWhile Benedict and Sloane decided to leave, Roman, Austin, and Adam had a farther drive and decided to stay the night. They helped us clean up the dead bodies, which took much less time than getting the pack members settled. Stephanie called for an all-pack meeting just before dinner time.Even though I’m Alpha of our pack and Stephanie is Luna, she has always been my equal and these are her father’s people. So, I let her take the lead on killing Elena and deciding which others were traitors to her father, then I stood with her while she addressed the pack.“I know that it must feel like you’ve all suffered blow after blow for months. Mentally, you must be exhausted. I don’t know what kind of leader Ellis was, but I know that Elena was lazy as was her mother,” she begins.I can feel the pack responding to her. They’re practically desperate for the type of leadership that they were used to when she was here. They haven’t had that in a very long time, probably not since Stephanie le

StephanieI felt better once Jameson accepted the position of interim Alpha. I feel confident that he can manage this pack well and that he will never betray me or try to take this pack from me or my pups.I smile thinking about the conversation that Will and I need to have about just which of our children will inherit this pack. I wonder if he’ll argue with me. He’s friends with Sloane, so possibly not. I know he expected our son to inherit our pack, but I don’t think there’s a reason Kayla shouldn’t inherit my family’s pack.‘I would never argue that you or one of our daughters could effectively run a pack. I think the conversation is more about whether or not you want that life for our daughter. Being an Alpha is not an easy job and it will be harder for a woman since she would carry her mate’s pups,’ Will says in the mind link.I think about my own difficult pregnancy. I understand his concern, but if she has the right mate, I don’t think it would matter. Even if Will and I were co

StephanieWhen Lindsay and I first stepped into my father’s old room, I looked around, not recognizing anything.“Do you want a minute alone, Luna?” she asked.I looked around a moment longer. “I don’t think any of this is his.”“I don’t think so either. Jameson and I were able to salvage a couple of things, but not much,” she said.“Do you mind starting in here? Keep the clothing in case you have pack members who need them. Otherwise, any of Ellis’ personal items can get tossed out,” I said.“Absolutely.”I went into the closet and that’s where I found the slashed pictures of me and my parents in broken frames. Since there was nothing of Elena’s in the closet, it was hard to determine if it was her or Ellis who had done it, but I think Will was right. Elena was always jealous of me.Because pack wars happen, and especially after what happened to the Brenner pack, my parents had created a secret space in the back of their closet. It used to have money, credit cards, and identification
