Chapter 11: New Powers

(Vera POV)I quickly closed the door of my room and headed towards my bed. I sat crossed legs on it and closed my eyes in a meditation position. “Xela! Can you please help me discover my powers?” I called her and she hummed in response. “Focus on yourself and you will get the answers,” I heard the voice and it was quite unfamiliar. I quickly opened my eyes and walked towards the mirror. Because I got the answers from my own reflection last time. “Hello, Vera! I am your fae form. My name is Hera,” A female with my same physique was present in the mirror but the difference was the glowing halo around her. Her one eye was glowing silver and the other one glowing golden. Silver moon marks were visible on her forehead and shoulders. “Wow… you… you are gorgeous, Hera,” I praised and she smiled softly towards me. Last time when I met her, I thought I was just staring at my own reflection. How silly I was! “What do you want to know, Vera?” She asked and I noticed the soothing tone of

Chapter 12: First Challenge

(Vera POV)We came to the hall where Queen Seraphine was waiting for us, but there was something different about her today… a certain kind of chill, like she was looking forward to the contestants' deaths. I narrowed my eyes but quickly schooled my expression before walking towards the rows where all the contestant Lunas were present. A few of them greeted me with smiles, and I reciprocated. I didn’t come here to be rude or to hold something against them. My competition and game were entirely different from theirs. Someone pushed me forward so hard that I barely kept my balance; otherwise, I was about to fall to my knees. “Evelis Draven! What are you trying to do?” Nyra’s sharp voice made me look towards her. She was seething with anger, glaring at Evelis Draven without fear of the world. “I didn’t push her. She stumbled because of her being overweight,” She answered in a bored tone. I gulped hard, and my face turned red due to embarrassment. “It’s okay! I am fine,” I answered a

Chapter 13: Cursed Jinx!

(Vera POV) “I am sorry, I was late,” Xela said, and I looked towards the female alchemist, who wore a complicated expression while Queen Seraphine glared daggers at me. “Wow! Is she the legendary wolf who will defy all odds and claim her place in the werewolf council?” A masculine voice caught everyone’s attention. I didn’t expect Rian to utter a single word in my favor. Maybe he was planning something vicious. “Well, I was ready to face challenges when I came here, but I didn’t expect the challenges to be this severe,” I said to Xela, who looked a bit defeated by the turn of events. “Don’t worry! We can handle all this,” I assured her and the alchemist nodded in assurance. “What do you mean by that, Rosaline?” Queen’s authoritative voice echoed in the hall when Evelis stepped out. “No, Queen! She isn’t some legendary wolf or something… instead, she is just a cursed jinx.” Everyone gasped at her audacity. She gave me a mocking smile. Everyone looked torn between Rian’s word

Chapter 14: Rejected Bond

(Vera POV)I started getting bored in my room, so I headed towards the back garden of the palace where we were staying. Usually, a few lunas head towards this part to get some fresh but there was no one this evening. I guess everyone was trying their best to look impeccable for tonight’s dinner. I walked towards the flower beds, which were looking really beautiful. “Please, come to me and satisfy my desires; I promise I will make your life heaven.” I heard a feminine voice and arched my brow in curiosity. I mean, someone was having an affair in the palace… woah! Interesting. A smile crept onto my lips. “Please, Queen! I don’t like this at all. Please keep your distance and have some decency; otherwise, I will report it ot the King.” A familiar masculine authoritative voice made me stop in my tracks. I was about to leave these lovebirds, but not anymore; Rian’s voice piqued my curiosity. “Rian! You can’t talk to me like this. Why is it so hard for you to love? Tell me? Tell me wha

Chapter 15: Rejected Bond (2)

(Vera POV)I opened my eyes, and the smell of antiseptic hit my nose. I scrunched my nose and looked to my left. An annoying beeping sound welcomed me to the present. It took me a moment to remember how I came here. “How are you feeling now, Vera? Are you alright?” Rian’s voice made me purse my lips. I looked at his worried expression and handsome face. I fell for this face years ago, and he made me realize how foolish I was to fall for a b*stard like him. “Let me call the doctor and nurses. You scared me to the core, Sweetheart…” Before he could complete his words, I got up and slapped him hard on his face. “Save the drama, Mr. General. I know your real face,” My voice came out rough, but my words left the mark that I intended to leave on him. Shock, anger, and then realization hit him all at once. I could judge all his emotions by his expressions alone. “Y-you… you were there, right?” He asked, and my blood pressure rose. The beeping turned loud, and the doctor entered my room

Chapter 16: Dangerous Trap

(Vera POV)We headed towards the dinner hall, but there was no one and Queen Seraphine was standing there. We heard that some important guests were coming tonight. “I think the guests will be fascinated by your unique abilities, Vera. This dinner will be an amazing experience for you, right?” Ophelia asked, and Queen Seraphine looked towards us. “But the doctor asked you to take a rest tonight. Are you going to skip the dinner banquet?” Nyra asked in a concerned voice. “I want to… I am feeling so exhausted, but I can’t afford to offend Queen Seraphine, so I have to drag my sick body to this banquet. I hope so it will be a good experience for me.” I heard her approaching, and a smirk crept onto my lips, but I quickly schooled my expression. “Vera Nightshare, Ophelia Crest, Nyra Vale! What are you doing here?” She asked in a nonchalant tone, and I quickly turned towards her. We all bowed in respect, and I knew she had already fallen into my trap. “It’s okay! No need to be so for

Chapter 17: Poison & Pain

(Vera POV)“Wh-what should we do now?” I asked Xela and started checking their pulses. “Just go, Vera! You will be in trouble if someone saw you here. Just go!!!” Kael pushed me towards the palace, but I couldn’t leave them there. “My blood can neutralize the poison and toxins, but I can’t help them with this… Tell me what I should do?” I asked Xela and Hera. Both of them stayed silent for a few minutes before coming up with a solution. “Your blood can heal them, but it is already filled with so much silver and toxins. It can harm their bodies really badly. Just use your bond to help them with your powers,” Hera, my fae side, answered. “But they have rejected me already, so how can I help them with my bond?” I asked, and Xela answered me in a hushed tone like she were afraid of my reaction. “Our bond is different from other werewolves because you are a hybrid with pure fae power.” “So, it means our bond is still intact even though they rejected me already,” I asked, and she h

Chapter 18: Poison & Pain (2)

(Unknown POV)“Queen! Two princes from the Royal Council are here already. You have to meet them.” Queen Seraphine’s expression changed in an instant. “Of course! We can’t let anyone find out about this ruckus.” She said and quickly walked out of the hall. She quickly smoothed down her dress, and a smile crept onto her lips. All the tension and worry of a few moments ago were not present on her face at all. “Am I looking okay, Zaria?” She turned towards her most trusted mate. “Stunning as always, Your Majesty.” She answered with a stunning smile. “Come on! I have lost my charm now. I am not young anymore after all,” She said, but her face lit up already after hearing Zaria’s praise. The moment she entered the royal room, two handsome and breathtakingly hot soldiers-looking princes greeted her. “Hello, Queen Seraphine! The Royal Council sent us here for the Luna survival games. We will stay here till the result announcement,” One of them said. His icy blue eyes were so unique that

Chapter 19: Second Chance Mate

(Vera POV)“My child! Wake up and go back to your pack. Your destiny is waiting for you,” I heard the same soft and ethereal voice that made me open my eyes. Harsh white light welcomed me, and I quickly covered my eyes with my arm. “Turn off the excess lights,” Someone ordered, and then I slowly removed my arm and looked around. The doctor was standing near my bed with a worried-looking Ophelia. “How are you feeling, Ms. Nightshade?” He asked in a professional tone. But I could feel the weird tension in the room. “I am feeling good.” My voice came out hoarse and rough. I looked towards the glass of water. Ophelia helped me to sit and then handed me the glass of water. “Your body needs a lot of rest, and your energy is too precious, Ms.Nightshade. You are not allowed to use it on others like this except in the case of an emergency.” He instructed, and I nodded in agreement.“What happened? Why are both of you looking at me like this?” I asked, and Ophelia’s gaze lingered at the do

Chapter 20: Second Round

(Vera POV)The doctor gave me two strong injections so I could perform in the second round of the Survival Games. I walked towards the hall, and something felt different. “Is it only me, or is something really different today, or maybe it is the injections that are messing with our system?” I asked Xela, and she slowly hummed in response. “Let’s figure it out after this round,” I instructed her before entering the hall. It was already buzzing with excitement and fear. “I have heard about this round. It is the most vicious one,” one contestant said to another. “Of course! Last year, many lunas got eliminated in this round because it will be filled with illusions, traps, and monsters,” another one added, and many shivered with fear. I took a deep breath to calm myself a bit. “Forget it. We will pass this round without any difficulty because two alphas from the Royal Council will join us today,” another luna added. Many giggled like schoolgirls, while others cheered like they won th
