(Vera POV)I opened my eyes, and the smell of antiseptic hit my nose. I scrunched my nose and looked to my left. An annoying beeping sound welcomed me to the present. It took me a moment to remember how I came here. “How are you feeling now, Vera? Are you alright?” Rian’s voice made me purse my lips. I looked at his worried expression and handsome face. I fell for this face years ago, and he made me realize how foolish I was to fall for a b*stard like him. “Let me call the doctor and nurses. You scared me to the core, Sweetheart…” Before he could complete his words, I got up and slapped him hard on his face. “Save the drama, Mr. General. I know your real face,” My voice came out rough, but my words left the mark that I intended to leave on him. Shock, anger, and then realization hit him all at once.
