Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Plus Size Rejected Luna In The Luna Survival Game: Kabanata 31 - Kabanata 40

(Vera POV)“But there is a consequence.” An eerie silence fell over the hall. “If both contestants betray each other, both lose all points earned during this trial,” She answered with a cruel smile. I scoffed under my breath. “But if both protect each other, then both will earn extra royalty points.” I arched my brow like I was waiting for more. If there was one thing I had learned so far, it was this: this survival game was designed to play with our minds, and nothing was as simple as it looked. “Also, if one protects and the other betrays… all the points will be given to the betrayer.” I blinked twice to make sure that I had heard right. “Vicious, cruel, and unremarkably intelligent,” Xela commented. I heard soft murmuring and gasps from the crowd, but I was too busy sorting out my own game rules. “We have to be strategic, or she will make us lose in no time,” I mumbled. And then she finally lifted her hand. “Choose your alliance partner in the next fifteen minutes,” And w

(Vera POV)I came back to my room with more questions than answers. I kicked off my shoes and huffed in frustration. It was such an exhausting day, and I tried to do my best, but people love to get on my nerves just for fun. I looked at the silver key and picked it up. I checked it twice to see if there was any hint of something I missed the first time. Although I had passed the trial of alliance… barely… yes, barely, because it was so difficult to pass the round with Evelis. “But one thing is making me restless about this whole arrangement,” I asked Xela, and she perked up her ears to hear me. “Why did Seraphine choose Evelis specifically?” I asked her, and she rolled her eyes. “Easy… because Evelis hates you to the core.” She answered as if I were some brainless idiot trying to solve an algebra problem. “Xela! I already knew about this, but the way she is using Evelis for her plan is not right. Because Seraphine has a habit… a habit of using people and discarding them afterwar

(Vera POV)There weren’t many contestants in the southeast, so I headed straight in that direction. I decided to change my route inside the forest or tackle someone there; otherwise, it would be too difficult to win any moonstone. “We have to be careful. The shadow beasts have the power to project your worst fears in front of you to distract you.” Xela warned me, and I nodded my head in agreement. She was right about this. I was exploring the area when I heard a loud scream. “Someone is in danger,” Xela shouted in my head, and I ran towards the girl, who screamed. A strong scent of blood hit me hard, but the moment I saw Calla on the ground with a massive beast looming over her, I charged with full speed and power. The beast turned its head towards me, but it was too late; I pierced its heart with my dagger, although it still threw me away while thrashing its body side to side. It looked like a giant wolf of darkness and shadow, with blood-red eyes, but it was almost ten times the

(Vera POV)I stared at my reflection after tying my hair in a high ponytail and nodded in satisfaction. Trial of Temptation… I hated the very word because throughout my life I wanted many things. Like mates who can cherish me and my love, a body that people wouldn’t laugh at, a family who can treat me like a normal person, but life has a way of surprising you at every step. “Vera! We should go,” Xela whispered in my head, and I nodded. “I am just preparing,” I answered. “You have been preparing for the past forty minutes,” She pointed. “No, I am not.” “Liar.” She rolled her eyes at me. Someone knocked on the door, and I checked my watch once again to make sure I wasn’t late for the trial. I slowly walked towards the door and opened it. Rafael was standing outside my door with a full smile and a tray of food in his hands. “What are you doing here at this hour?” I asked before stepping aside to let him enter. “I noticed you didn’t come for breakfast, and you also sk

(Vera POV)Take the crown.I approached.Make them suffer. My fingers hovered above it. That one was harder. Much harder. Because some ugly part of me wanted it. Not the crown. The revenge. I wanted them to feel small. Helpless and Afraid. The way they'd made me feel.My fingertips touched the metal. Xela still wasn't there. Nobody could judge me. Nobody would know. I could take it. Then I remembered something.Lucien was standing between Evelis and me.I made cruelty look powerful. My hand stopped. Wasn't that exactly what this was? Cruelty disguised as power? I slowly withdrew my hand.“I don't need them kneeling.” The voice whispered again. Why?I looked at the throne.“Because then I'd still be building my life around people I claim don't matter.”The throne cracked. The crown shattered. Darkness returned.*************I knew the third temptation would be the worst. I was right. Moonlight appeared. A field formed around me. Then I smelled them. Pine and winter, Kael’s scent. Rain
