Oracle’s POVI was standing at the temple, chained to the altar, as I watched the temple we built fall. “Please, stop!” A cry from my left made me turn. My eyes widened and I saw Sorrel tied to an altar beside me. She had blood running down her body which was only when I realized that I was bleeding as well. Not the bleeding from injury, these were done perpetually to drain my blood.“Sorrel! Sorrel!” I yelled her name; my heart was beating twice as fast, pushing up against my throat, about to jump out. I fought against my restraint, tried to move, tried to squeeze my way out but there was no leaving this place.Fear lurched in my heart like a spear as I saw a black figure, covered head to toe, walk over to where Sorrel stayed without muttering a word.“Sorrel! Let her go! Let her go!” I barked. My voice was not mine.
