DREA“Thank you,” I muttered, just as he slammed the door and rounded the car towards his side. After entering, he turned on the car and sped off.None of us said anything for a while and the air was thick with tension.“Mr Morales, huh?” August finally spoke up, his eyes focused on the road.“Yup.”“I thought he was a coworker. How did he become your lecturer?” He asked, his face sporting a frown.“I was surprised too,” I replied, leaning back against my seat.He didn’t respond to that. What was going through his mind?“What project was he talking about?” He spoke up after a while.“It’s this class project that is really important.” I simply stated, just as he parked in front of a really fancy restaurant.I reached to open my door when he stopped me.“Wait.” He said, getting out of his side of the car and coming towards mine.He opened the door, and I gladly took his outstretched hand.He pulled me out of the car, my eyes remaining on him.“Let’s go.” With that, he guided me towards

ELENAShe sighed, rubbing Whimsy’s fur as she lay on the floor. That was definitely enough running for a day.“Well, I didn’t think you liked me enough to ask questions. Questions that didn’t involve me being a gold digger.” I internally rolled my eyes.“Well, now I’m asking you other questions,” I told her, standing up.“It’s called making a conversation.” I teased.“Let’s go in. She’s tired.” She slowly got up and Whimsy followed suit, walking beside us as we made our way back to the house.“Wait.” She ran back to the sitting area and picked up the tray of snacks before running back.My brows furrowed.“You know, maids can do that, right?” “Yeah but…I can also do it. Besides, it’s a long walk from the house.” She explained. This girl was definitely weird. We entered the house and I went to one of the living rooms to sleep.“I’m going to freshen up,” Drea told me when she walked out of the kitchen and I nodded.I sat on the sofa and turned on the TV, Love Island coming onto the scre

UNKNOWN “Whoever gets in the way should be taken care of.” He continued. “Including August.” He mumbled.“Yes sir,” I said, standing up.“You can leave.” He sighed, walking back to his grill. I bowed before walking into the house and out of the front door.My fist tightened. All I could see was red.How dare that old fucker treat me like this?I pulled my phone from my pocket and dialed his number. After five rings, he picked up.“What do you want? I am in the middle—” He whispered before I cut him off.“Meet me at our usual spot. 8 pm.” With that, I hung up.•••I sipped on my vodka drink, staring at my bruised fists. What?I had to take out my anger on something.“I told you not to call me unless it’s something important.” I turned around to see him pulling out a chair beside me and taking a seat.“Whiskey on the rocks.” He told the bartender, before resting his elbows against the counter.“We need to make a move…fast,” I told him.His face frowned.“I thought you wanted to lay lo

AUGUSTI rubbed my temples, breathing out heavily.I continued to carry out minor tasks I had to complete for the day.I had two meetings with our planning and technical team of the company.By the time I was back at my office, it was 10:45 am.I reached for my car keys on my desk, my hand stopping midway.Do I really want to go for that?It had to be over by now.Do I just bend to my father’s wishes?“Fuck it.” With that, I grabbed my keys from the table and headed downstairs.I got into my car and put in the location of Wolfe Holdings on my maps.It took me fifteen minutes to pull up at the building.Wolfe Holdings was a lot bigger than mine. That was for sure.“Good afternoon Mr Wolfe.” Sonia, my dad’s secretary, greeted me as soon as I walked into his office.“Where is the meeting being held?” I asked.“Right this way.” With that, she guided me into the large boardroom which housed twenty of the board members at the company.I had arrived when it had just finished.Thank goodness.

DREAI took a deep breath.Calm down, Drea.My eyes landed on the bookshelf. The hidden office!I immediately rushed towards it and pushed it open, wincing at the mechanical sound it made.I quickly entered, turning around and seeing it shut behind me.I fell to the floor, too dazed to even think. What do I do?There were no guards. They had successfully penetrated the impenetrable fortress. How do I escape this?Where was my phone?Oh right.I dropped it in the hallway. It would’ve been useless. There was no signal. No calls went out.I sighed, the tears streaming down my face uncontrollably. Is this how I die?I wiped my tears and sniffled getting up.No.I need to know at least why this was happening to me.I heard a gunshot and covered my mouth to prevent myself from screaming. They shot the door. They were in the study.Inches away from me.Without even realizing it.I tried to steady my breathing.“Where did she go?” I heard one guy ask.“Check everywhere.” another voice sounded
