Chapter 20

Enzo I am back in my cabin at Everest pack when Talia and Jack enter. “Please do come in.” I tell them because they did not knock first. Talia sighs, “I think Gamma Riely is planning something he shouldn’t. He was saying something about Mexico and helping someone get away.” She tells me. I am immediately on high alert. “Did he say who?” I ask them. They both shake their heads no. I am the only one who knows where Alpha Samuel is. I never told Jack or Talia because they didn’t want to know. Jack was the one who found Talia mingled and tossed everywhere. He brought her pieces back and in their original places so she could heal and come back to life. When Talia told him what had happened, he found Alpha Samuel and brought him to Talia for revenge. They don’t think he knew she was the one in the cloak that night she beat him till he passed out. Then she contacted me to hide him. “What are we thinking? Do you think he was talking about Alpha Samuel or someone else?” I ask them.

Chapter 21

Alpha Austin As I watch Talia walk away a thought crosses my mind. I walk over to the playground area and sit on a bench and gather my thoughts. Then I pull out my phone and contact my Beta’s mate. Talia As Taim and I are making dinner, I look up out the kitchen window and see Adina returning from the park after hanging out with her friends. I smile as I see her running towards the house. I sniff the air to make sure it is just her. I go to prepare the soup base when Taim swats at me. I look at him and he says something in his native language before shooing me away. I chuckle and when Adina finally enters the house I assist her in getting ready for dinner. She gets in the shower while I gather her clothes and sit them on the bathroom sink. Talia Adina is running around, looking for that t-shirt she lost last year. It is flower printed with smiley faces on the flowers and they are rainbow colors. As she is throwing stuff around looking for it AGAIN, there is a knock on the door. I go to answer the door and no one is there. I look down and there is a white box with a sliver ribbon wrapped around it. I looked around to see if I could see someone retreating away. I don’t. I then sniff the air to see if their scent is familiar. I do smell cotton candy with a hint of lemon. Again, I do not recognize the scent, so I leave the box. “MOM I CAN’T FIND IT!” Adina shouts from upstairs. I chuckle and walk up there, to the attic, and walk up the stairs. The attic is Adina’s and her friends place when they can’t go outside and play. I walk over to the window, and pick up her t-shirt. What can I say, I like to play devil’s advocate here. I seen it here last year and wanted her to think of places where she could have left it.

Alpha Austin Pacing in this room is all I can do. Had she received my gift? Did she like it? No, no I want her to love it. Enzo I had left the car a few miles back from the packhouse. I see blood and corpses at the front gate. I immediately run off to Talia’s house. They have got to be okay. Adina, Talia, Tiam. Talia As we are carrying Enzo pack to the packhouse, I look around. She was nearby, where did they go? The pack doctor had to give Enzo a sleeping medication. He was rambling when we found him. When Jack made an appearance at the front of the packhouse, most of the rouges had run off. Few were captured and kept alive for questioning.
